I think they were implying that Kristi was offended (or hurt) by Varney's post claiming the things he claimed, and Varney was offended by her being offended and expressing it here. But take it how you want! You always do! Now... on to more important things; what should I wear to dinner?

For the record, it is not like everyone just come out because they feel like bashing someone; it is a pro player trying to set the record straight when her name (and/or that of her friend) were misrepresented and used repeatedly for commerical gain by a cue maker on a public forum without her consent.

If you would go back and read, no one even mentioned Mr. Varney's name in the beginning of this thread, as this was supposed to be a thread about Kristi Carter.

Somehow Mr. Varney felt the need to promote his work, when someone asked to see pictures of Ms. Kristi Carter.

He started saying Ms. Allison Fisher used his cue in the IPT (we do not know if it was true or not. That aside, since Ms. Allison does have a contract with Cuetec, I think mentioning such a matter on line is a bit inconsiderate to say the least, if he had not consulted with Ms Fisher before hand.)

Shorty after that, he made another claim that Ms. Kristi Carter said his cue was the best she had ever tried (which she never did).

When he was called out, he said he never lied about anything (even though it was obvious that Ms. Carter never said a Varney is the best cue she has ever played with; Ms. Carter believes that a Lambros is the best cue) and went on to tell(threaten?) Ms. Kristi Carter about "talking on the forum" saying he could have told everyone secret he was not supposed to tell. Mr. Varney also described Ms. Carter's post as a comedy show.

As you can see, this is not like everyone coming out of the blue one day and just decides to bash a member.

Mr. Varney, in my opinion, really should not have tried to promote his work on other people's expense as often as he does. To go as far as making up a fraudelent endorsement makes him look very desperate and unethnical. It makes us question if we should trust him again. His behavior is what caused the responses in this thread.

Out of respect to you, I will bow out of this thread. :)

You then even less than thrilled me when you stated that it played so good that you doubted that I could duplicate it. Then we met again at our mutual friends home and I hit some balls with your cue & you AGAIN stated how well my cue hit. If wanting to share a pros thoughts on my personal cue is "arrogance"...then yes, I'm guilty. If you for some reason feel the need to pour water on that, then so be it. This is how I make a living...what you've done here is along the lines of me setting up near your match table while you are working & starting a loud and rude comedy act...seriously.
Yes you play with Mike's cue...I never said you played with one of mine. From now on...send it back to him when you want it to play better...he does great work & makes a much nicer cue than I.
Sorry if you feel that I exploit my work. In my business I must self promote or fall into the masses of the unknown makers. I've said absolutely nothing untrue. Too bad you feel the need to suddenly pop up and "pour water" on me as you said. I could really lay it out there and tell all I know...but I do NOT! In fact I should go so far as to stop all of my dealings with WPBA players...until you post an apology. But I will not as its not fair to them. I understand you are angry at this thread and rightfully so, but don't put it on me...I did not take the pictures or post them on this public forum!!! I'm disgusted that you try to make me look the part of a liar...thats so unfair & untrue. You say I've "put a couple tips on your ferrule"...you my dear are the one being less than truthful. Do I need to refresh your memory as well on all the shafts I tricked for your break cue. Working on both your playing shafts, more than once, and working on several break cue shafts as I have done...I believe thats as I said..."I do her cue work now". Enjoy...because thats the last work I'll do for you. I could continue to speak and make this an interesting thread...but I'll stop now, bite my tongue and just be the bigger man here and wish you a wonderful Christmas.

On our local radio station (WAAF Boston), they had a contest between Ming Tsai (not an eggnog partaker), a Jewish chef/restauranteur whose name escapes me {edit: Michael Schlow}, and the stations morning producer (an idiot).

The two chefs used actual eggs. Ming cooked his in. I"m not sure if the other guy {Michael Schlow} did.

The idiot producer used a carton of Hood Eggnog, mixed it with Kahlua, vodka and ice cream. A frozen White Russian.

Ming's liquor of choice was Frangelica, and he sprinkled ginger and Chinese five spice.

The other chef made two eggnog mixtures using chocolate liqueur and almond liqueur, IIRC.

By most accounts, the two's gourmet eggnogs were the best "eggnog" they ever had, although they were highly departed from the carton style.

Fred <~~~ didn't taste either

I remember my father using raw eggs to make eggnog from scratch back when I was a kid. It was, to the best of my memory, the best egg nog I ever had, although I'm sure my glass didn't have the rum portion he put in everyone else's glass.:(
 
Beware of spiked eggnog!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've gotten juiced up on spiked eggnog got so sick I prayed I'd die. I believe I would of rather had the flu. Pure Brutality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M argumentive by nature an I love the COWBOYS. I know if they play the Bears they will be underdogs. If they were playing today an the spread was 20 I would bet my house. I would either be homeless or build a duplex
in the spring to rent out. Grossman's evil twin could show up on game day
an that would be a bad thing for you. lol

Maybe it's because I'm relatively new here, but here's my personal opinion (I know, everybody wants to know :p )

I've noticed Varney does self-promote a lot (maybe too much by many people's standards), but having one of his playing cues I can say he has at least some reason to. They play very well. If I had never used one of his cues I would be very skeptical (as so many are, rightfully I suppose) about all the self-promoting. BUT, it just seems like any nugget that can be used against him is exploited and stretched to its limit and beyond most of the time. It gets tired. I've found the best solution, if you're getting annoyed by all the self-promoting, is to ignore. If you dislike every post he makes, it only makes sense to add him to your ignore list. Those of you who don't do this, I can only imagine that you enjoy harrassing him. In that case I would leave it up to Varney to do the ignoring. The end. :D

You keep bringing up Varney yourself...I thought you want the subject to be dropped? So what if his cues hit good? That makes it okay to lie about professional endorsements?

I don't think anyone should be ignored. You're assuming that adults cannot behave as such, and engage in arguments/debates/sparrings about cues, cuemakers, personalities, politics, music, art...whatever the topic may be.

and I will say this again: Varney has only himself to blame. It's not like I piggybacked on a separate issue in this thread. Kristi Carter validated the EXACT THING that rubs me the wrong way about Kevin Varney. So, I will continue to participate, as long as his little fans---like yourself---keep reviving the topic.
