Poor play at the WPC
Was your poor play in the WPC do to the fact that there was no pizza over there?

HOW DO YOU CALL GETTING BEAT IN A RACE TO 5, AND ALTERNATE BREAK, BAD PLAYING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Al-fahl Amir said:Was your poor play in the WPC do to the fact that there was no pizza over there?
Shawn Putnam said:No holds barred, I'm easy going and not easily offended. I want you guys to be honest. I want to project a positive attitude and be an ambassador (for lack of a better term) for the game. Honest answers will help me understand how you the fans and sponsor's see me. Being a top ranked pro, it's important to know how you're percieved if you sincerely want to project a good image of the game to the public. Without you, the fans of pool, I wouldn't be what I am or where I am today. Thanks for all your support.
NOW, C'MON & LET ME HAVE IT!![]()
Ok, I'm lost.... I took it as enthusiasm. I'm not blonde, but I'm not getting it. It was his first post, how was he offended & what was his weak spot?JrockJustin said:Capital letters usually mean you are yelling... for one who claims to be not easily offended, somebody found your weak spot...lol...

I know it's been rumored but I can't say for sure.Al-fahl Amir said:I heard that he plays tournaments okay, where there's pizza to eat and boxes to build towers, but he is weak when it comes to gambling. Do you know if this is true or not?

*****update, I missed Shawn's response to "stallion" and thought JJ was posting in reference to Shawn's 1st post since that's what he quoted*****
Guess it was a blonde moment.![]()
LOL, it was my own stupidity. Instead of taking me to the 1st unread post, it took me to the last post, which was yours so I ASSumed there were none before yours.... Besides, it was 1st thing in the morning & I don't function too well at that time. It goes against my nature to be up that early unlesss I'm just going to bed.JrockJustin said:I was just referring to Shawns post right above my first post...where he seemed angered about the WPC tournament...
Sorry about confusing you!

The english and the powerful stroke are always going to be there .whitewolf said:.
I have just one question though. Do you often have the urge to use english again while playing? I ask this because I saw Dixon play and tried to model my game after him (LOL), but then fell into the english trap. I either have to use mostly centerball, top, and bottom with no english or just go with mostly english. I can't flipflop. Just curious if you have experienced this delima?

Thanks WW, it was pleasure meeting you too.whitewolf said:Oh Timberly, you are a nice goddess. It was nice meeting you Saturday at the Planet Pool event.
This was posted in the Turning Stone tourney thread and I thought I'd bring it over here in case you miss it in the other thread...Shawn Putnam said:I'm looking for input from you guys about my game. I would like to know what you percieve when you're watching me play? What do you like or dislike about me (how am I percieved) or my game.
Koop said:I have to give mention to a player I have never seen play before but was impressive beyond belief and that is Shawn Putnam. This guy is a future world champ without a doubt. His only losses were to Efren on the hill and a streaking Jose Parica. Impressive doesn't even begin to describe his game and demeanor.

Timberly said:Looks like you aquired a new fan over the weekend.Koop, I have to agree with you. Mr. Putnam's game is very smooth and precise. Here lately he's gone hill hill and/or beaten world champions like Ralf, Efren, Mika, & Marlon Manalo a few months ago when Marlon was on his hot streak....These are just the tourney's that I've been to the last few months or that have had good coverage on here. Off the table he's got a good sense of humor and usually has those around him laughing. Some of the personalities of pool players are just as colorful as the balls themselves. Shawn is definitely one of those people.

Thanks Koop.Koop said:Hey Timberly,
My only regret is that I never felt an opportune time to go over and say hello to him. His game is better, much better than I imagined. My buddy Matt who came with me was really impressed as well.
The match against Efren, it really looked like Shawn was going to get him at 8-7 when he made one tiny mistake and that was all she wrote. My friend commented that one mistake may cost him the match and sadly it did.
Shawn, as far as feedback, keep doing what you're doing. You struck me as a class act on and off the felt. I'll take great pride if my world champion prediction comes true
Regards,
Koop
