I think you're confusing my meaning. I don't think your system is idiotic. It may well be genius.

But the users of it (at least the ones who mix it up in these CTE threads), well...

Well, you clearly stated that CTE is apparently a system for idiots. My son, Landon uses CTE. I use CTE......many of my students use CTE.

Stan
"Apparently" means based on what I can see, Stan. What I can see is what the people say who engage in these AzB threads and say they know CTE. It ain't pretty.

Stan,

Unfortunately, pool players are the cause of why pool isn't mainstream. But what's killing our sport isn't the drunks or the degenerates. It's the PhD's, and the "elite thinkers" that think they're smarter than everyone else, and mock us "commoners" and how we play the game. I see it all the time - those good players that aren't quite great yet, mocking lower skilled players, or thinking they're somehow beneath them. It's like high school - grade 10s pick on grade 9s. The grade 12s don't care. They have other things that are their priority. Pool world = high school. Right now it seems to be the science club versus the jocks.

There will be people who will appreciate your video. Don't let a few analytical minds ruin your endeavor.

Shawn, They can talk that junk. It all boils down to the table and game.
They cant use big words and witty arguments to win.
, We will see who looks like an idiot;
A pencil or calculator wont win them a set of 9b.

I 100% agree that not everyone needs CTE or any change to their game, if everything works right. Johnny Archer seems to be doing, whatever he's doing, very well.

While you might not need it, I find it hard to believe that you are not able to learn/use it. Is it like giving an 8 year old veggies? They start spitting it out before it hits their lips. That's the only logical thing I can think of.

Once again (with feeling): it doesn't work for me.

Why would you insist that it has to work for everyone?

Lou Figueroa

I know you're not that naive. So, it must just be that you are still one of the old timers that don't want anyone else to learn anything , just in case you might play them someday.

If you think it's that easy, then why don't you ever give any advice on all the videos people have submitted for review on AZB?

And I know you're not so naive as to think you can set up a straw man like that, blow it over and think you're making a valid point. And why I choose to not review videos is just that I choose not to even look at 95% of the video links posted here. Not interested.

What do you get out of this? Do you have dreams about CTE? You and Lou invest so much time into proving something doesn't work to people WHO USE IT. That couldn't make less sense. Its not exactly the same as arguing over religion, historical conspiracies, or who's the best boxer... The fact that CTE works is not the matter of opinion. People on and off this forum use it in their everyday game, and if it "didn't work", they wouldn't use it long.

Speaking just for myself: because aiming pool balls is an interesting subject and it's fascinating to read all the piffle offered up justifying CTE. To me, it's an interesting subject and something I choose to comment on. Not much different perhaps than the reasons Spider, or John, or Neil, or Petey, or Cookie, or eezbank, or lately Stan, spend on the topic. I mean after all, people spend their time talking about all kinds of crazy subjects :-)

Here's the problem I have with the self-proclaimed "sharp spoons". PJ has grouped me into the CTE crowd, where clearly I have said I do not use an aiming system 95% of the time. I guess because I am open minded means I've dulled the edges of my spoon?

Somehow, these CTE threads have become some form of validation for a few people to try and prove they're smarter than the rest of us, and that they need to educate us as to how dumb we are. Just because I am open minded, and choose not to dismiss the CTE proponents makes me dumb, I guess. I actually thought that maintaining an open mind, and trying to learn new things that are outside our comfort zone was actually the path to wisdom. Do I 100% believe in CTE? Not really. Am I bent on telling people who use it that they're wrong? It's not my place. I like to listen and learn. Perhaps there may be one golden nugget of information in Stan's teachings that could take me to the next level.

Unfortunately, we have a few experts that have decided to mock people because they choose to shoot a white ball at a coloured ball with a different alignment tool than they use. This crap only happens in pool. You don't see golfers mocking other golfers because they use the "Stack and Tilt" method instead of the classic swing. They openly embrace new techniques, and are constantly trying new things to improve the game. That's why golfers make millions per year, and pool players scrape for nickels. Golfers support other golfers. Pool players mock other pool players.

Oh, I see, you're just knocking something else you know nothing about. What ever floats your boat Lou.

Stan, looking forward to the dvd, hopefully you'll have the paypal set up soon.

Some people just try to over think and analyze things.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were out camping in the desert.
They set up camp, pitch their tent and fall asleep.

Some hours later, The Lone Ranger wakes his faithful friend.
"Tonto, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."

Tonto replies, "Me see millions of stars."

"What does that tell you?" asks The Lone Ranger.

Tonto ponders for a minute.......
"Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.
Chronologically, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three.
Theologically, it's evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant.
Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.
What it tell you, Kemo Sabi?"

The Lone Ranger is silent for a moment, then speaks:
"Tonto, you dumb ass, It tells me that someone has stolen our tent."

Looking forward to watching the DVD.

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. I usually don't comment on videos if I haven't watched them.

Now I do have to confess I watched Spider shooting balls with part of the table covered up. Hilarious. I'm surprised that one didn't go viral :-)

I'd love to shoot blind shots with you Kernel Lou. Get someone to put a poster board behind the CB after a 2 second shot clock. We'll record that and the trouncing would go viral for sure. PJ can stand there and he can take side action. The audience will get a blast watching you feel balls into the rail.
