You're like Bizarro Superman and I'm Superman... the only difference is I can really fly.

Whatever makes you happy, but in the real world we call that the difference between a normal person and somebody who believes they can fly.

Agreed ... that video is not very good. Although, it does make the point it was intended to make ... to keep the grip hand relaxed during the stroke. That video is at the top of my list of videos to redo (if I can ever find the time). Not that it should matter to anybody, but a better representation of my current stroke can be found here:

This clip was filmed in 2009. I am certainly a much better pool player now than I was in 2003. And I certainly still have a lot more room for improvement (i.e., I still have a lot of "potential").

Regards,
Dave

It should matter to everyone, since you're the teacher. The funny thing is, you don't know how bad your technique really is (since you posted that as a better example).

OK. You win. I guess I don't know anything about pool after all.

Have a nice day,
Dave

I think you got caught-up in the analogy. What I'm trying to say is... you're really smart... and I'm someone who is also really smart, but can also play... and when I post, I post from that standpoint.

Again, prove to everyone you aren't a total hack and come out from behind your

No, you know everything about pool... literally... except how to play.

I think pool should be setup like the PGA-- you have to pass an aptitude test to be able to teach.

A power draw this isn't....sheesh. If I draw my rock like that, I'm trying to trap someone in the room.

Spidey,

Again, you are taking video clips out of context. The purpose for that clip isn't to show that I have a monster power draw (I don't; although I can do better than what is shown). The purpose was to show the effects of lowering the tip and increasing the bridge length. This advice could be helpful to people who have trouble with draw shots.

I have hundreds if not thousands of videos online, and I'm sure you can find technique flaws in many of them (I certainly can); but the purpose of the videos isn't to show off my lack of skill. The videos, when taken in context (i.e., how they are referenced in my book and articles), usually have specific messages that can be helpful to some (if not many) people.

I'm sorry you see no value in my resources. I will try to do better.

Dave

If I beat you and all your instructors would you be convinced CTE is no good?

How 'bout if you play another pro who uses it since you're the pro?

Beat Stevie or Busty and maybe you have a point.

Since you're the mac daddy player, what's your name mr. unknown? I hate it when people hide behind the KB. And depending on the game, you're not a lock to beat any of my instructors - regardless of who you are. I think JoeT at 10B, Stan at 14.1 and Ron V at 1P are all very, very tough games, imo. If you're the nut-locks on any of them at those games... you're an awesome man.

My point in the ability comments is that certain people talk about what's good or bad...right/wrong and they can't draw their rock. If you don't see an issue with that, a pro you're not.

As far as shot-making alone... I'm no pro but I'd go shot for shot with ya on really hard proposition shots on a tough table. Even if you play super, I wouldn't lose a ton. I may not win, but I wouldn't lose a ton.

Maybe, but videos of you making shots and posts saying you're "not interested" in discussing how you do it don't demonstrate that.

...but can also play... and when I post, I post from that standpoint.

Maybe you're smart, but this kind of comment isn't a demonstration of that.

Was that a yes?

Ok I can finally let you know that I improve my play over the past months playing with CTE. I won a few championship after the few months learning the system, been getting 2-3rd place finishes and won over guys I'm getting spot before.

Did I improve? I think so..

Thank you for the comment about me playing the same. I was able to use that energy too.:)

Gald to hear but how do you know it was the CTE and not just getting better from experience and confidence. The fact that you think it makes you better could in fact make you better  simply because you have more confidence. Which is a good thing since it can show you your real speed.

Glad you think your better, and may well be, but this isn't real proof the system works. If it works it could be duplicated on paper and math and with stand a good scientific review. Unfortunately it can't.

So I suggest that it's your own newly gained confidence that has improved your game.

Good luck to you

Oh yeah, well my daddy can beat up your daddy.

Oh yea...

Well my Dad beat up Super Man, for trying to make a move on his girlfriend, Wonder Woman, right befor he went over to Super Girls house to make her happy because Flash gets done to fast.

You are correct it's the confidence.

Well you certainly would not get any confidence if you are not getting the balls into the pocket. The system made me pocket balls better which gave me confidence. This is the reason why I improved.

Pocketing a tough shot could make or break a match. There were many times that CTE bailed me out.:)

It is tough to show in paper imo, specially if it's on top view. you won't see it properly.

I'm curious what's your knowledge about CTE? You can pm me if you don't like to post it in here..

Was that a yes?

All I ever hear from you is how many balls you're running on mega-tight tables. Unless you post a video, it never happened.

Maybe you are the mac--- maybe you're a 15 year old smartass with acne talking cocky on the internet.

Either way, you're prob no better shot maker than me, unknownpro, and I'm a nobody.

Oh yeah, well my daddy can beat up your daddy.

Well, he was talking stupid --- since he's a PRO and all. CTE doesn't make someone a pro. Play a pro who uses CTE is what I was saying. Compare apples to apples. Heck, I can prob beat a lot of people's instructors--- that has nothing to do with anything.

I dont know how you do it Spider, Im not even in the conversation and this thread makes me want to be my head against the monitor LOL.

any pivoting or moving once you are down cant be good, then you never really know what you are looking at find your contact point and pocket the ball pretty simple really and adjust according to the English works for me just my opinion
