I mean, if CTE is the be all to end all of systems and it touted as the holy grail of aiming, WHY MISS!?!
There are no excuses.
All you CTE secret society guys can save it.
If people miss using CTE, then it's no better then my close-my-eyes-and-use-the-force aiming system.
Like any method it's all about the execution. CTE or Ghost Ball or Stick AIming or any WAY that people choose to use is only as good as the person using it can implement it.
I mean if I am using CTE and SOMETIMES I measure to the inside edge and sometimes to the outside edge and sometimes right on the edge then it's clear that I am not doing it exactly the same every time. Maybe most of the time that tiny variance doesn't matter but maybe sometimes it's critical.
So naturally if I can aim to the edge perfect all the time and deliver a straight stroke then my pocketing percentage will be very high. Same as with any other method I use to align my body to the shot.
Stevie missed two shots in this match where I went WTF??? One was a medium cut shot to the corner and the other one was medium distance shot down the rail with a shallow angle.
A player of his caliber should never miss those shots ever.
However we have all seen top players dog simple shots so it's impossible to credit any specific reason for it.
If CTE people - of which I am one - want to take credit for the wins then we also have to take credit for the losses.
Just on the face of it and comparing the two styles of play WITHOUT KNOWING any other information like their physical states etc.... this match was a poor showing for the virtues of CTE. Some of the shotmaking on Stevie's part was great but his position play was subpar for his level and that forced him into having to make tougher shots. And missing the two relatively easy shots in the way that he did was really unforgivable for a player of his caliber.
I am sticking to it though. I have to lose at least 2-3000 on something before I give up on it!!!!
So if anyone wants some of my CTE money - come and get it
