Cue case strap sliding off shoulder

I have an Instroke case and the strap slides off my shoulder too easily. Have any of you had this problem and what did you do to fix?

I was thinking of getting some kind of rubber and super glueing it to the strap. I know this would work but seems too radical.

thanks in advance, WW

Work out so your shoulder is not sloped downward!!!!

Not sure if these are available as an aftermarket, but I had a Whitten and their little pad was great for keeping this from happening. It was positioned well to boot. You might be able to make one yourself if the asthetics don't bother you too much.

Well even though you have been a jerk to me I will be happy to tell you how to fix it. Of course there are plenty of aftermarket shoulder pads you can buy but if you want to preserve the one you have you can do the following things.

1. you can sand the pad to be more grippy. Stay away from the thread.

2. you can find some suede and glue it to the pad. I like this better because then you don't have to take a chance on doing the sanding wrong and with a full piece of suede you can always rough it up again easily with a suede brush. You local leather shop will have scraps and if you go visit them then it's likely they will find a suitable piece and cut it and glue it for you. Use a good contact cement and follow the directions exactly. You can also have it sewn on by a luggage repair shop. But if you use contact cement and do it right then it will never come loose. You WILL need to lightly sand the shoulder pad though if you do the suede.

3. There is a product called bag stop or something like that which glues on to existing shoulder pads with self adhesive tape. Never used it but you can probably find at the luggage repair shop. Google around and you will probably find it or similar products.

If the strap is long enough for your size it should stay on OK. I have been through this before,,,,but all I had to do was adjust the length and it was fine.
I used it short for a long time and had no idea there was a adjustment on it.
Don't know if you have that option.

sew a peice of shearling-lambswool to the cacl of the skoulder pad will stop the slipping and be more comforatable.

I used ONE of these for year with CAMERA BAGS. $15.00 Solution, or buy a JB CASE, and your problem will go bye bye.

The best thing I have done to fix this problem was go to a mall luggage store where I picked up a black leather non-slip shoulder pad to put on the strap. It was much better after that.

There are lots of stores that sell non-slip shoulder pads online or in their stores. Do a google search and take your pick. I've seen them for as little as $8 too.

Another suggestion if the case is a nice leather one and you want something custom is find a local shoe maker or even better a leather working shop and let them know what you're looking for. They can usually make something fairly inexpensively to get the job done.

You could get some grippy tape like for tennis racquets and wrap the strap. Might look kinda ghetto but it would get the job done without superglue

Yes, the shoulder strap is the best thing I like about the Whitten cases. Thanks.

Thanks JB. I will try and be more kind to you in the future;)

Pineapples !!!!!!!! My dog just ate my strap im about to cut up one of my wifes belts the second she jumps in the shower

What I would do in this situation is buy a new case with a shoulder strap that stays on my shoulder.
Then I would buy 2-new cues, and use the old case for storage, so I get some usage out of it.
You may even want to get some extra shafts for the new cues that you will never use, and get a separate case for the extra shafts.

This type of quick thinking is what keeps cue & casemakers in busy...:)

I love to squeeze my wife's pineapples in the shower too.

Not sure what the dog has to do with it, but whatever floats your boat...

my sarcasm was wasted on you.

Well I wrestle with my toothbrush each morning at noon
I stumble into the bathroom and have my shampoo
I'm livin' in a suitcase; lookin' for a call
leerin' at the telephone and laughin' to the wall
Now I got me a sweet thing she keeps me insane
she lays on my chest in the morning if it rains
I'm livin' in a suitcase; lookin' for a call
leerin' at the telephone and laughin' to the wall

I'm a road dog at the Motel Holiday

...
Not with that brand, but my solution is to put the strap across my chest rather than over my shoulder. That's secure enough you can run for a train while carrying two suitcases. I wouldn't trust over-the-shoulder in that situation.
