This is a new cue I am working on for my own new player. I did this in my 3d software. It looks so real, it is hard to tell. I have no reason to put this here other than it is just so cool how real it looks. If you have any ideas, or changes in this design, I'd like to hear them. It is Bubinga with Ribbon Anigre w/ blue dyed ribbon Anigre and dyed cork. The rings will be turquoise and maybe black onyx. The collar and cap are synthetic Ivory. I have more pics of it on the forum in my signature.

How about inlaying the diamonds OVER the boxes. Then you can call the cue "Out of the Box". I think that would be a neat twist on the window idea.
 
I don't know about the software, but the cue is drop dead gorgeous. I hope to see the real thing someday. Thanks for sharing.
 
Ditto. It would be interesting to see the completed cue and the virtual prototype side by side.
 
The design above is amazing. Are you going to build that? As for the first cue, very nice. I think you should use at least four veneers in the points and boxes though, and thin out the rings some. And I like John's idea of "out of the box" with the diamonds.

like your design a lot. I like Southwestern looking cues (like New Mexico and Arizona, not Southwest cues), and your design has a Southwestern look to it. The colors and accents are outstanding.

How much does 3D Studio Max cost?

I plan to get a cue made in a little over a year, when my pension kicks in, and I would like to do my own design.

Curious as to how much you might charge for something like this? I know it would be pretty cool for someone looking to have a cue made to mail a rendering like this to a maker with a handwritten note that says "this please" Awesome designs by the way.
 
Big Ups

I just got my final design today. It took an initial description. A first revision with some design changes. A second revision with some cosmetic changes. And Now I have an awesome picture of the cue I want built.

I sent it off the to the cuebuilder that I chose to make it for me. In 6 - 10 years I will be playing with it. I'll post pictures of the finished cue when it comes in. :thumbup:
