Cue extensions

How many people use a cue extension when playing straight pool? I'm thinking about buying one from jwhager.com but not sure what size in length to buy... Any suggestions will be helpful..

I like the Tony Ryan cue extender because it fits on my Sailor cues which have a flared butt cap... a knob on the end.

I have a 20" Hager which I use when I use normal cues. It's very light and easy to carry. I also like the Cue Reach because it's like carrying a hard tube sleeve in my soft case.

hagar

I got a hagar and it's the best thing for a short fat man that was ever made in my opinion. It actually grips the cue tight and doesn't scratch it. I highly recomend it.Give deacon a holler, he used to keep some and he'll treat you right.

I like the Hager as well. The only drawback is unless you have a case with a long pocket. It's hard to carry. I hear he is supposed to come out with something to attach it to a case.

In my opinion, it's something you can easily do without. There is a "sweet spot", so to speak, where you want to hit the shot with power but can't quite reach it (and you can never hit with much power using the bridge). That's when an extender is handy and I think these situations come up about one shot every 4 games or so.

I have a Tony Ryan and it doesn't hurt the cue but it won't fit in my case (a Justis). So I leave it at home and use the bridge. The Justa-Bridge won't fit in the case either, by the way.

i use our own custom cue extension...

it can be ordered for the length desired, wood choice is as many, like this one, a purpleheart cue extension:

our cue extensions can fit directly to a mezz-x rubber bumper.

i use my mezz extension every now and again. it's gotten me out of a couple of tough situations.

if you get yourself a newer mezz they sell the extension and it's real easy to pack around. normally when i'm using my mezz i just stick the extension in my back pocket. it's way better than a slide on extension because there's no chance of it damaging the cue

i know kevin deroo and scott zacho (zac cues) both offer built in extensions if that's more your cup of tea

i really like the short screw in ones like the mezz. for a universal extender, i really like the longoni. the handle isn't too thick and the locking mechanism is great. i've heard some people say it has scratched their cue, but it has never happened to me and i don't really see how it is possible. i think this extension now comes with a strap on case. without a strap on case, most of these extensions are a pain to lug around.

Thanks everyone

I just bought a Tony Ryan per all the posts here and going to his site.

Free shipping too!

Gotta love AZB

Thanks Dennis. Now I gotta go spend more money  But it sure looks to be worth while for my 2X2 Porper case. :smile:Hope they have it in brown.

Longoni Extension

Try the Longoni extension. I'm short and overweight and I think it's a great tool. A friend brought me one from DCC 2007 and it's great for me. It also fit's cleanly in my case which is a must for me. Try one!
