Please can any anyone tell me the year or complete date. The 2 piece pool cue was introduced?

dacue...I don't know the exact year, but there have been 2-piece cues for at least 150 years. The Billiard Encyclopedia shows a brochure, from a German company (B. Finck & Co.), circa 1861, with drawings offering over 160 different 1- and 2-piece pool cues. The fancy marquetry cues from the late 1700's were all 1-piece.

The famous French billiard house Hiolle bears the name of the man who founded it in 1820. I don't think i've ever seen a one piece Hiolle.
On the other hand, i dont think ive ever seen one without a leather tip, and acording history they came later.

If i had to guess i'd say 1850, but it could be that 2piece hiolles where made in the 1820's

I doubt you can find the exact date.
Thurstons in England listed 2 piece cues in the early 1800s -
maybe 1830s or even earlier - I can check ref
if it matters.

Solartje...Francois Mingaud invented the leather tip around 1820, so that would correlate with your comment about Hiolle cues.
