I don't think the taper is as extreme as the photo makes it out to be. I could be wrong though. I will place it along a good straight edge and take another photo.

I agree. I believe it is a Paradise on which someone has changed the joint and pin.

Looks to me like an early 60's era cue that's had some work done to it. The fat butt and plastic could be Paradise but it's hard to say. There were a number of small shops in the East and Chicago who could have made this cue.

Do you know anything about the history of the cue?

joint and butt sleeve are super unusual

Never seen a Paradise with delrin inside the sleeve and the joint is totally wrong. Doesn't look right for Meyer or Fedunka either. This one might have been heavily reworked or is destined to remain an unknown.

Chris, I think you could be on the right trail here with Chicago...as Spain was doing some odd things with delrin, like using it in the joint and butt sleeve areas. Certainly not a Spain, but perhaps someone took that idea and ran with it on this cue.

Looks very much like my Paradise.

I agree that the white rings in the butt may not be original and I doubt that the joint and pin are correct. The shaft should probably have a tenon or shoulder around the insert as well.

Question, does the ferrule unscrew?

Jay

Correct me if I'm wrong but that joint looks Ivory to me... Not delrin.
