I have two cues that I would like to have refinished...

Any recommendations?

I know I could simply send them off to the original cue makers but I thought I would check "ALL" my options...

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!!

I already posted this in the "Cue Makers" forum... Thought I would get a quicker answer over here...

Cue makers are busy making and repair men are busy repairing.

They may check in to the forum during the day but they aren't getting paid for it.

Depending on what make of cue you are talking about, you may be better off having the maker do the refinish work as you might devalue them greatly.

Who made your cues? Thats a good start before anyone will answer your question.

I would certainly recommend Ryan Az name ratcues, great person to deal with completely honest, and best of all does great work.

Mark Smith, Andy Gilbert

Mark Smith in Russellville does great work. His cell # is 479-970-0056. He has a website at www.marksmithcues.com. Also Andy Gilbert in Clever, Mo does great work. He refinished one for me for $150.His # is 417-743-2759.

Thanks for all the response everybody!!! :D

Due to your location Andy Gilbert be a great choice if he will do the work. You might also contact Billy Webb is lives in Lakecity, Akansas I am certain he would do a great job, sell his Custom Cues and the finish work is flawless.

Check out Proficient Billiards website. Scott has worked on 3 of my cues . All were perfect. He answers his own phone when you call. Amazing guy.
Prices are moderate, turnaround is quick.

I have a Jacoby and a Schon that need to be refinished...

I called Jacoby today and was quoted $225 for the Jacoby and $275 for the Schon...

I have never had a cue refinished and I'm trying to cover all my angles...

Manwon you seem like a very good person from what I read on the boards BUT I would rather slam my %$@# in a car door than let Bill Webb work on anything of mine... He is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life...

I ASKED BILL IF HE COULD GIVE ME ANY INFO ON HAVING THEM REFINISHED OR IF HE WOULD EVEN LIKE TO DO THEM... HE TOLD ME HE COULD NOT HELP ME... SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO "REFINISH" A CUE... WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK @ ME THE FEW WORDS HE DID MUMBLE...

Sad thing is he builds some VERY beautiful cues!!!

If I were you I'd call Mike Erwin (662) 562-9009... I have yet to see a bad refinish job from him and I have seen a few now... You also cannot beat the pricing..

He batches refinish work so he can do the spraying economically... You might have to wait a week or 2 until he has several ready to spray....

I have a cue being reworked at this moment and as soon as the pin is swapped and the new shafts are made it's going to Erwin......

I would say orignal CUE maker or http://www.proficientbilliards.com/

http://www.proficientbilliards.com/ did a great job on my Palmer & Paul F. Mottey.
The only little detail they forgot one very small color change in the dots near the rings.
But everything else was PERFECT & great turn around time.
