scott from proficent.Well I never met him and seen his work on a local guys cue .Well here ya go bad mouth me for a while I don't care.I would never have him touch one of my cues I remember a kikel cue that comes into mind .kikel was so pissed about the work that he refused to touch it again.shorty's cue was not the only cue he has done that the customer was not happy with,No one has the balls thoe to talk about it here thoe,Scott was in the wrong for adding a color to the veneer that was not right with out first calling the customer and talking about it.Plain and simple.I would have not liked it either myself.This is why people should send the cue back to the original maker.I myself would not want any work or refinish rushed on my cue it sure seems like scott refinishes a lot of cues every week.if he don't have time to talk over the things with a customer maybe he should not try to make so much money all the time bye rushing out 20 cues a week .I no some guys think he is god fine with me I just stating some facts here.Like every one else he will learn from his mistakes.I think there to many people on this forum here talking crap and being a cry baby because some one said a naughty word.I seem to have some rep points against me because I spell bad or I don't type good.Who gives a crap.I love pool and pool cues and I dont need every ones to cents.I say don't like some ones post's just look past it.I not been posting as much as I have had because it realy getting stupid around here and i don't want to hurt any of you boys and girls here with a few words.Rather than post on some ones thread every time about bull crap that has nothing to do with the thread or pool send them a pm or get there phone number some time and chatt with them they might not be to bad of a person and you may actually learn some thing.I myself have done this with deadstroke used to hate the guy now I think he is a alright guy just from pm him and talking to him it is easey to misunderstand people.I met shorty on this board and I would have to say he is my most trusted freind and probally best budie.he has proved this to me many times.He even bought me a cue once when I was broke and did not have one and let me pay him 3 months later just on my word and I payed him and he will always be a great guy to me no matter what he posts.So lay off the guy.Sorry about this long post but wanted to get some stuff off my chest.

Take this as you will and I'm happy for you that Shorty is your friend, but no. He stirs the crap up, keeps it going and then whines and cries about all the bogeymen coming after him.
If Shorty would mind his own business and stop the behind the scenes crying no one would give a damn about him and he would be left alone. I don't expect this will go over well with you but it's the truth.

I totally agree that Shorty should be allowed to voice his opinion without people insulting him.

I am probably one of Proficient's larger customers and I can tell you that I think Scot does the best job someone can do repairing and refinishing cues. He is not a miracle worker, but 95% + of his work comes back to me perfect. I am pretty picky about my cues, believe me.

I also am on friendly terms with Shorty and we communicate. I like Shorty. I think people were reading Shorty's post wrong too. Scot did mess up Shorty's Schon and Scot admitted it, but I think Scot asked him to go elsewhere for repairs, that's why Proficient wasn't "an option".

Noticed the same thing.
Wished that Shorty listened to his own advice.

Scot did mess up Shorty's Schon and Scot admitted it, but I think Scot asked him to go elsewhere for repairs, that's why Proficient wasn't "an option".

Thats where I'm 100% with you. Yes he did screw it up and apologized. I'm sure if it was dealt with in a professional manner Scot would have more than made up for it in future work.

I just gave this a chuckle and moved on until he pulled his original post. I don't have any problem with Shorty, but this was a move a kid would pull. Come on..... Oh, well, since so-and-so (read between the lines)
wont do the work who will I get to do my repair work?

Come on.... we have a cuemakers section where I'm sure you can PM cuemakers and do this privately without it being an opinion poll, while supporting your fellow board members.

What was it a little too hot in the kitchen?

EXACTLY! He actually went awhile without pulling his behind the scenes stuff and people had left him alone. He's done so much stuff behind the scenes, and caused enough scenes that people have no patience for him anymore. If he minds his own business, people leave him alone but when he doesn't, people aren't as forgiving of him as they would be someone else because of his past actions.

Sure, there's more references and insinuations than there should be, but remember that he brought it upon himself. This many people didn't just pick him randomly.

Matthew, I think what shorty did for you was very nice and you're a good friend to stand up for him. Keep in mind though that different people see different sides to every person. There are people out there that think I'm the sweetest, nicest person alive and there's people out there that would rather have dinner with the anti-christ than even look at me. The people that think I'm nice, have been nice to me. The people that don't like me are usually people that I don't like. Interaction with people in life is a do unto others scenario. Shorty has offended & annoyed a lot of people here with his actions. Don't be surprised by peoples reactions. They're a direct result of his doing. JUST like your reaction is a direct result of him doing something nice for you.

Perfectly stated and I don't begrudge Matt at all for sticking up for his friend. It's actually very admirable. And like you pointed out, there was quite an amount of time that Shorty was posting without any type of harrassment whatsoever. It's the nitpicking, behind the scenes garbage that causes the sh!tstorms.

Nuff said by me as I think it's clear where I stand on this.

Scot Sherbine does great work. My Skip Weston was in such bad shape and he made it look like new in weeks time at a very good price. He even called me a couple of times giving me some updates. I wouldnt hesitate to do business with him again.
 
Scot Has Also Done Work For Me, Although Not Recently. I Would Recommend Him To Anyone. He Is Also Always Superhelpful.(<---i Just Made Up My Own Word, Lol.) I've Even Had Him Do Some Realy Odd Work/repairs, Adn They All Came Out Nicely. All The People I Have Recommended Him To Have Been Happy As Well. I Will Also Be Honest Though, If The Cuemaker Is Still Alive,and It's Possible, I Would Have The Original Maker Do The Work. They All Have Their Own Special Tricks/touches That They Do.

Hey there Matt! Gosh! We seem to keep meeting up these days! Did you miss me?

Anyway, I have to say that I still stand by everything that I said in that 'Ken Murrell' thread. And this post in particular just acts as further evidence of my attack on your little intellect. Try separating thoughts with periods and perhaps even using more than one paragraph! When I first saw all of those letter grouped together like that, I began staring at it waiting for the 3-D picture to appear. Then I realized 'Of course! Its Matthew! These are words with absolutely no punctuation whatsoever!' :D

But, typos and lack of spelling and grammar skills aside, I will say this and then I'll be on my merry way: You consider Shorty to be one of your most trusted friends?!?! Wow! You must have some problems!

Know nothing about Scot Sherbine except he has a Posse of Fans who love his work. Word of mouth advertising is the best recomendation anyone in business can have.;)

It may make ME cry, too! I'm soon to receive back a cue I sent to Scott for a refinish and rewrap. Heard nothing but good stuff about him....until now. Now, I'm crossing every appendage I have, hoping it comes back looking even remotely close to the cue I sent out!!!

Still, opinions will continue to be in flux, based on everyone's personal experiences.......naturally.

Makes me wonder, though. Has anyone actually taken their own issue/problem up with Scott personally? Aside from Shorty, that is?

I have been doing business with scott since 99 and have never had a bad experience with him. He has always explained something as to why he did it a certain way and it has always been the right descission when a refinish is done.As a example I took a schick in a trade that had silver foil work thru out it and scott refinished it and explained that when someone put nics in it were the foil was it made dents in the foil and he couldnt sand the foil so he had to just put new finish over it. It looked perfect except where the light reflected off the foil under the finish that had little dents. I understood that and it looked super anyway.The cue sold in 4 hours on cueauctions for over 4000 bucks and I made a hefty profit.There's a mottey on ebay right now that scott worked on and the guy sent it to him and after scott had the cue in hand he told the person that it needed a new wrap but the guy said he wasnt selling it and just do the best he could with the thin worn lizard imatation wrap that was on it,it sit's lower than the finish and is noticable.So scott does it and guess what.Its for sale and the guy who get's it is going to say is this how the wrap is left after refinished by scott.Guess who looks bad?SCOTT!Well its the guy who didnt want to fix it right and unloaded it is who should be reponsible ,so now you how scott has his hands tied!Whats he supose to do,tell the guy who sent it there he wont do it unless he puts a 250 new lizard wrap on it?If scott told me I would be better off installing a new wrap I would,but that the problem,sometimes people dont do the right thing. Scott has done a lot of cues for me and zero complaints.JMO
