Hey all, just curious if anyone builds cues in the Chicagoland area. Always been curious to see one built. Seen it on How It's Made, but would like to witness first hand. Thanks in advance!
 
Joey Gold of Cognoscenti Cues is probably one of the more well known names. I'm not sure it's that easy to just waltz into his shop and take a seat though. :D
 
Yea he's probably got a pretty nice shop. I was looking more for someone who does it as a hobby maybe? Just never seen it first hand and have always been curious to see just how much work it takes.

I think Ed Young is also located in that area some where, and David Paul Kersenbrock live with him, I suspect these guy's are also pretty well known in some circles!!!:smile:

I suspect it might also be kinda tough to take a seat in that shop also, but you never know!!!!!:smile:

Bobby Hunter's shop is also in the Chicago area, and I doubt, as well, that you could just drop by and "watch". I spent over 100 hrs in Joe Gold's shop (over 5 years), but I was a cue rep for him (as well as a friend).

Jon Spitz and Darrin Hill are both AZB members and post here somewhat regularly, especially if they have cues for sale. I play most Thursday evenings at Shooters in Gray's Lake and I've seen Jon in there frequently on that night. If you show up there and strike up a conversation with him I suppose it's possible that he'd invite you to drop by his shop, but of course I can't speak for him.
 
I shoot Tuesdays and Thursdays as well, plus grays lake is about 2 hrs from me...kinda bummer

They do not have alot of visitors at all.
