Probably a good warm up for the upcoming US Open, this tournament features a good part of the creme de la creme in Pool right now. They all come when Jayson calls ;)

Very strong field for a Matchroom WNT ranking event 15x800+ players in this 64 player field. 2nd strongest field for ranking event after Sharks Open. Field for recent ranking events have been miserable with handful or less of 800+ players
More 800+ players than the ongoing Michigan 10 ball Open which has about 10x800+ even though Michigan Open has 3x prize fund $75K vs $25K for this event. I like this break neck speed format- 64 player field finish in short 2 days so you get to see high level match ups early on (y)

Free stream on https://youtube.com/@MadAppleXstream and Matchroom Youtube channel starting 11am ET

two of my favorite players on the stream now, chohan vs raga. good stuff!

well done jayson in putting this together

Really like the split screen streaming for most shots. The overhead gives an instant replay of the shot (with the time lag) and you are able to see cue ball movement.

Do they have new Rasson tables? I saw a post by Rasson on FB that they were bringing new tables there that retail for $5000. I don’t know if they are actually the tournament tables.

I don't watch a lot of streams, so maybe I'm no judge of its quality. I'm enjoying this one, certainly. I think the quality is quite good. I like the side by side shots, one of the table from the side or end, and the other an overhead shot. (albeit a second or two delayed). Pretty cool

So it seems. The legs are square and turned like 45 degrees. The commentators kept stressing the size of the pockets which I think are 4 3/8". I see at least 11 tables of the same style in a wide shot.

Watching right now, there is also a Rasson graphic in the top right corner at times, as well as banners with their name on them between the tables. Pretty good chance it's their stuff

From the Rasson website, it looks like they are MR-SUNG Accura tables "Engineered by Rasson." Not sure what that means.

If those tables retail for 5k, Rasson is poised to make a serious try at the US market. If they play half as good as they look, they'll be quite popular.

yes, it's MR SUNG tables, the same as in shark's tournament in philippines. 25mm slate instead of 30mm as the other rasson tables use

white glazed wood doesn't look good imo

Greetings from Connecticut. This is a superb event. US1 Billiards is a great room with really good food. The field is strong and deep, and the Rasson tables are playing beautifully.

In my view, the two major stories of Day 1 were: a) SVB looks like he is in dead stroke and will be hard to beat, and b) Moritz Neuhausen has reached a new level in his game, evidenced by his convincing 9-0 win over Alcaide in which David barely got a decent look at a shot. Another player showing very strong form is Wu Kun Lin, who appears to be a live long shot.

Winner breaks, nine on the spot. The players have had an pretty easy time making balls on the break, with most making the one ball in the side.

Looking forward to the business end of the event today. As we all know, anybody can catch a stroke on any given day.

The Shaws have been wonderful hosts of the event, making everybody feel welcome.
