This is why Jerry Rauenzahn belongs in the HOF...not many cuemakers can do this type of cue from scratch...nuff said...your thoughts...

I'm going to add an ebony/maple one piece cue with titlist veneers to this picture next week to complete the set. One piece cues are very hard to build and keep the points even. Jerry's work is special.

I have been using my Varney's for a while now and just recently started using my -R- 8 pointer. I think this cue will replace my Varney as my player.

It hits absolutely fantastic.........

The butterfly cues, including the one-piece are not even attempted by cue makers other than Jerry; that's one point. I think another point is the versatility of Jerry's craftsmanship. He'll do an old Hoppe style, a Bushka or a Szamboti style, and make it look more like those traditions than others. He'll also do his own styles of dash ring-work and inlays that identify it. And his contemporary cues are as good as any.

I would say Jerry is deserving as a Hall of Fame Cuemaker.

very nice

These cues look great! MY favorite is the two piece ebony, but they all three look unique!

Didn't Scott Gracio win the AZB cue of the year vote last year with his Brunswick 360 replica?

The cues are amazing, and I am a tremendous fan.

Realize that prominent names such as Stroud still have yet to enjoy the honor, in either the American or International HOF.

I'm sure others saw that post and "let it go" knowing full well of other butterfly makers (past and present) that did similar builds. In respect to the poster wanting to give -R- kudos for the butterflies posted, they let things be w/ out having to make a snide remark. Which is all your comment is.

Sometimes, you need to show some class and leave it alone.

EDIT: And No it was not Hartman (BHQ), try..........2011 Gracio????

Excellent butterflies by -R-, truly a remarkable and a vast ranged builder!!!!!

Sorry I have no class. And you're right it was the Gracio 360, sorry for misremembering.

I have nothing against Mr. Rauenzahn or his supporters. The one -R- cue I owned was well made. The classy thing however is to acknowledge his skill without deliberately knocking others. It's a hard thing I know as I know too well.

i WISH i could build a cue like that
jerry's & scott's full splices/360 replicas are fabulous
i love those cues & enjoy looking at them on here
that one-piece had to be twice the work, mind boggling
a huge thumbs up to mr. -R-

how do people get in the hall of fame
do they have to be active for x number of years,or near retirement
or is it a vote thing by the committee or what

either way,it looks to me like Jerry r ought to be considered based on these fine examples

the one piece cue is very tempting to buy,but the 2 piece cues are also remarkable

Yes, for technical accuracy, I should have said Jerry is one of few cuemakers to do the complicated style shown. It was intended to praise Jerry's work, not get into a litigious-like word contest.

that red white + blue one is absolutely gorgeous

That red, white, and blue one piece is my treasure diamond in the collection. Thank you!!

This cue is nearly finished and ready to join my collection. Jerry -R- insisted I have it, now I see why. No collection would be complete without a one piece ebony Titlist which is extremely rare, let alone a ONE PIECE!!!! It weighs 19.2 oz without coring. The ebony is from a stash of wood Jerry picked up that is very, VERY OLD, dry, and well seasoned. The good thing is he has plenty more long enough to make cues with tall balanced points, perfect for making a couple more one piece cues. (<:

It balances up at 18 1/2 inches without finish or bumper, and it's built to be a REAL player. I can't wait to have it in my hands next week so I can make the original photo into the 4 amigos instead of the 3 amigos!!!

Here are some teaser shots during construction while giving the wood time to "rest."
