I was just going to post that Old Nine said it best in post #197.
There is no monetary gain for the Pros to hang out here. They only drop in and talk honey when they want something. Money.
Something that Ray Poitras posted here before the last 4 Bears Tourney. One pro, that had asked for full sponsorship to 4 Bears, when asked if he would be willing to do some seminars with the people for sponsorship said, NO.
They don't want to work for what they get and figure that their name should carry weight.
Not our fault that we figured that one out some time ago.
But anyway, I will never subscribe to that line of thinking that we as members, any of us are responsible for Pros not posting here. It goes a bit deeper than that John.
I saw, with my own eyes, along numerous other witnesses, that you were a complete and total douche in NJ in the manner that you barked at Eric. He would have been completely within his rights to deck you and you would have gone in for some serious dental surgery within 24 hours.
Myself and several others would have been more than happy to testify that way. The *only* reason that that didn't happen was because an AZer intervened for the sake of our match.
I have also witnessed the many fights you've gotten into here, some of which ended in threats against your body.
As for Joey... me, I wouldn't be going into Hardtimes anytime soon if I were you, from what I've heard, back channel
So, John, if you ever do get decked, or worse, in a pool room, which I suspect that now that you're back in the States is more than likely to happen, given your "effervescent" personality, I promise you that people all over the country will be more than willing to come out of the woodwork to testify, "He had it coming."

Oh please. I asked the guy to play some pool and he said he was there to watch me get goat screwed. I said nothing remotely douchey or hateful to him. I offered to play pool for money and that's it.
Make no mistake Lou you are HATED by many and intensely disliked by many more.
Of course you would be willing to perjure yourself. That's all you PROBABLY did for you entire career for all I know. You certainly haven't been honest on AZB.
As for Eric he would have been arrested for assault and then sued.
He is another example of why pros don't want to post here. I could mention something else relevant to this thread that directly concerns a couple pros and Eric's comments but there is no need. Let's just say that not everyone present shared your view of events and some had my back should Eric have followed through with his "double dog dare" threat.
Again, IF people were not allowed to be complete assholes on here then we wouldn't be having this discussion. You seem to act like it's perfectly ok for people to threaten me....you the SAME guy who said that no one should be upset about words on the internet....the same guy who whined that you are just a guy giving your opinion....and that Stan shouldn't take offense that you called him a snake-oil salesman and insinuated that he is a con artist.
So which is it Lou? Should people be upset and therefore justified in perpetrating violence over words or should they simply be thick skinned and wave it off?

How many pros do you actually know? How many have you ever spent any time with? How many have you had any conversations with?
I know many of them and have spent a lot of time with many of them and have spoken about lots of life stuff with many of them. They are people too.
And you would be 100% wrong about thinking that some pros and some industry people stay away from AZB SPECIFICALLY because of a few members.
Many pros would more willing to hang out and talk pool IF they felt like they weren't going to be attacked if they said something "wrong". But this place is toxic because all it takes is a couple people to be complete assholes to spoil the conversation.
Remember how James Walden was strung up by the AZB posse last year? Some anon came on and said James stole from a stakehorse and the AZB know-it-alls were only too happy to dump on him and declare that he is an example of low life pros and the sad state of pool etc.... Only a few of us stood up and said hold on, let's find out the facts first.....and then turns out the whole thing was a fabrication by a pissed off girlfriend.
This place is gossip central and some of the people here telling me to "behave" are the same people who NEVER chastise others for arguing. Have you ever said a word to Lou about how he talks to people? Not that I have seen. Ever been critical of all the shitty things said to Stan Shuffett?
Lou never gave a shit about how Connie Shuffett felt about all the horrid things Lou said about her husband. Nor did Lou give a shit about how Landon Shuffett feels about all the shit Lou aid about his dad. Nor did you ever once criticize Lou for all that crap.
So save it. Some of us actually have real conversations with pros and industry insiders about AZB in person. You can believe what you want but you can't change the FACT that the largest forum for pool has VERY FEW pros and industry people actively participating.
Yet on Facebook there are pros in abundance and industry people from the world's best brands easily reachable and willing to answer any question. So maybe you can make yourself believe it's not because of the climate here but the climate is in fact a big part of it.
This community could be awesome. It's already full of good people and it is because of those people that I stay here. If we were to make people actually follow the rules and stop them from trolling and defaming then it would be fantastic.
