Cues of the Pros at Qlympics

I was able to take some pictures of some of the pro's gear when they were in TheActionReport.com room at the Qlympics event last night.

The first one is Shannon "The Cannon" Daulton and his Ebony,Ivory, and silver Joss West. He also has a Shannon "The Cannon" signature SouthEast break cue and a sporty cowhide Justis case.

Up next is Indy's own Bank Pool Monster Brian Gregg. He plays with an older Shurtz 6 point cue that he loves.

World Famous cuemaker Richard Harris of Bluegrass Cues stopped in to play some and graciously let me shoot some pics of his personal playing cue. I have never seen cocobolo this red or with this much curl. The pics do not do it justice. Look for an interview with Richard in the future.

so shannon got a new cue ?? i thought he was still playing with the one he had at derby 2 years ago. i forget who made it but it had colrful and zig zaggey points. who made that cue?? i thought brian gegg played with a sneeky pete??

thats the same one i have. i guess richard wasn't kidding when he told me mine was the same as his player, lol

Shannon picked up the JW at the Derby last year. I was in the AZ room when he was test driving it. I think his other cue was a SouthEast. Ton of Ivory in it if it is the one he had with him before he switched to the Joss West.

Brian has played with the Shurtz every time I have seen him for years.
 
Thanks Justin, man Shannon's case with the cow fur on it is friggin sweet
for some reason I thought that he broke w/ one of Mike Guylassy's cues :confused:
 
yeah Shannon's Southeast broke at the Derby last year or the year before and he picked up that Joshwest while he was there.

I love that cue. Ask Shannon who has dibs on that JW and if the name Daniel doesn't come out of his mouth I will give him "gentle" reminder.:)

BTW- I have Brian Gregg's old cue (old purpleheart SW). He hated to sell it and still asks me about that cue when I see him.

Well let's see.

Richard Harris uses a Richard Harris. (I guess he sponsors himself)

Putnam is sponsored by Josey and he uses a........wait for it......Josey.

As far as I know Brian and Shannon have no playing cue deals so they use whatever they want.


If a guy doesn't use the cue he is sponsored to play with he will lose the sponsorship. If the sponsor has any sense.


Just curious what the point of your insinuation was ?

Oh....I get it now....that vast right wing conspiracy has infiltrated the pro pool world and has all players secretly using the new "W-Destroyer of Worlds" cue. :D

(see I just proved we can make anything political :D)
 
Awesome thread!... Putnam looks to have lost a lot of weight, unless it's just the picture.

Very nice Josey and Josswest. Anyone else notice that Stinger being one-of-kind. Maple and Ebony with turquoise and a radial pin? Cool stuff.

When Shannon was running the tournament at Diamonds last weekend, we were checking out his cue and case. Both are as nice as the pics show.

When I get there next week, I'll let you take some pics of my cue. Only problem is, if someone offers me $20 more than I paid before then, I'll flip it... :D :eek: :D . I really need to get one cue and stick with it.

Shannon has always had pretty cool black and white cues, the cow hide is an aquired taste :D
