Curiosity Question - What cue is Efren using at DCC?

I made a mistake, I actually taped the video of Efren and I playing and he did play with a plain 4 pointer with what looks to be an ivory or white phenolic joint. I was just uploading the video and noticed that.

It was a fancy sneaky but Kevin looks like you were right. My apologies, I must have been thinking about one of my other matches.

Peace

I can't speak for the type of cue you are referring to but when he played me on Saturday in the tournament he was definitely not using a sneaky pete looking cue. It was not super fancy but definitely NOT a sneaky.. JFYO

Okay maybe I should ask what cue he is using on the home page of the AZBilliards website? Top picture title Derby Day Three. From that picture it looks like a sneaky but maybe it's not. Regardless does anyone know the maker of that particular cue?

Thanks again

Kevin

He might switch cues for banks, etc.. I don't know! I'm betting he could hit em' pretty sporty with anything he chose to use!

I believe the cue in question that Efren has been using lately is a wrapless Titlist conversion. No idea who made it.

Here are photos from last night's bank match vs. Shannon at DCC 2010.

I've seen some loaded cues, but nothing grabs my attention like a good basic cue like Efren's.

If that's not a Titlist it's a damn good tribute.

Edit: On a second look I'd be very surprised if that's not a converted (turned down?) Titlist. The forearm looks like the straight-grain maple that they are so known for, and of course the veneers are a spot-on match. The wood in the butt looks like it has a bit more character than most Titlists but that could just be a good refinishing job.

FWIW, the best-hitting cue I've ever had was a converted Titlist with an ivory joint. Hits like a dream.

I was watching him play and that is what it looked like. It looked as if he had it for some time as the shaft was really well broken in.

I talked with Efren after him and Alex played and asked about his cue. He said it was done by a cuemaker out of Houston, TX. I think he said Dennis or Denny Green. Maybe somebody knows who that is.

I heard that Efren did not bring a cue to the DCC! I think he might be just borrowing random cues from friends there.

I was watching him play Ike Runnels in some friendly 1-pocket on Saturday, and he was using a completely different cue. I was talking to one of the guys that was friends with Efren, and he told me that Efren just didn't bring a cue, and was using different cues every day.

the cue in the pic is the cue efren is currently using, and he did take it to dcc, although he was hitting some balls with a couple of his freinds cues also.

That is wrong, it is his cue. Not sure who made it but he talked about it in the interview after he won the 9 ball event.

It looks like the same cue that Jose Parica was using during the one-hand mini tournament. Same cue? if not Diveney, any other ideas?
