Keep on derailing this thread with your bs....go ahead

I don't need your suggestion.
I should have not hired you in the first place.
You didn't hire me, I've never been to your home, and don't really care about fixing your pool table now, but who knows, Mark might be interested in rebuilding them, but i highly doubt it........so keep making this fine thread about Marks work....all about you Joey like the cry baby you're acting like.
And, this thread is not about you.
You're right Joey....it's all about you and YOUR rails![]()
The ones you subcontracted.
Not brought up until you went juvenile.
I hope someone pulls the same move you did to you someday.
Yeah, Glenn, i'm still pissed off about it .
I bet you are.I'm glad I'm hijacking this thread Joey....then I can show everyone here how to really hack a thread:thumbup:
I bet you are.
The table is post #1 is Beautiful!!..........as is all the other MG restorations of Anniversaries/Centennials displayed here on AZB.:thumbup:
I bought my Anniv about 3 years ago. It was in a nearby poolroom (now closed) and I immediately fell in love with it. Landon Shuffett and I would play straight pool on it as the pockets were too big (5.5") for rotation games. It was (is) in excellent condition and still had (has) the old cushions on it that everyone talks about playing so good back in the day......the kind of rubber that's not made anymore due to ? environmental regulations (forget what they were called, ? Manhattan Rubber, ? K66). None of the new stuff plays as good as those cushions, IMO (especially banks).
The owner eventually moved it out and set it up in his house, scared that it would get beat up/scratched in the poolroom setting. Shortly after that we made a deal and it's been sitting in my basement since.
I'm a Straight Pool nut. Straight Pool is no fun on a tight table so the big pockets were the main reason for buying the table. It's been a blast but my rotation games have suffered and I'm now ready for a tighter table. I usually make it to the DCC/US Open/other tournaments and going from 5.5" to 4.5" can be rather difficult for an old blind guy.
So, the big question for me was, do I sell the Anniv and get a new Diamond or have MG tighten it up.
I've had it up for sale for some time now. I've had many bites, but no luck yet. The main obstacle is the local pickup only stipulation. I've been told by many that the market is slow right now (same with cues). I knew I had something special but after talking with many people since listing it, I now realize how special these tables really are......see Jay Helfert's recent post.
I've recently been in contact with MG about tightening up the table..... from just tightening up the existing rails all the way to brand new rails, aprons, ball box, pedestals, etc. I mean if you're gonna get new rails you essentially gotta get everything else done so the table looks right........matches up.
The problem with getting it done like the one shown in the OP's opening post, is that I'd be almost scared to play on it. I mean I'm getting it tightened up to practice 9 Ball/10Ball........a big part of these two games is the break. I'm afraid of bouncing the ball off the table and putting a big dimple in the rail. With the Diamond Dymondwood rails one doesn't have to worry about things like that.......but they're just like a car, depreciate in value as soon as it leaves the factory (unlike the Anniv, that will go up in value 5-10% per year).
So, it's a tough decision.....one that I will be making soon after the Derby.

I'm talking about the new rails that Mark Gregory would make for me........those are solid walnut (or whatever type wood you'd like......he told me one guy is getting the whole thing done in Nicaraguan Rosewood).
