Custom Anniversary from Mark Gregory

Ahhh... Feels like having a classic car parked in my game room.

That Mark is the ascended master of table mechanics already goes without saying.
But what everyone may NOT know is that Mark's customer service is friggin' unreal. Never called him and had him not pick up. Not once. Over the course of a YEAR. Every aspect of my table he discussed with me at length to develop a table that was not only up to his unreal standards (all custom walnut, no poplar!) but also had the cushions and pocket characteristics most suitable for the games I like to play. Mark clearly does this work out of pure love for the art, not what cash he can get out of it - absolutely cannot recommend him highly enough.

And a shout out to Jorge Ramos of Somar Billiards here in San Antonio - thanks for all the patient work getting this table to play flawlessly!

Table

You are in Texas, that's a very nice table. I'm in Iowa and I would walk uphill both ways in the snow to hit some balls that table.

WOW!!!
Mark is the best table mech in the history of mankind.

Sorry, don't mean to correct you but what Mark did to build out that Anniversary has nothing to do with pool table mechanics, but it does however speak about his craftsmanship in which Mark is second to none, so credit should be given to where credit is due.

I feel that to even imply that this kind of work is that of a pool table mechanic's level of expertise is simply just wrong, it has nothing to do with being a pool table mechanic...I am a pool table mechanic, and a damn good one at that if I say so myself but when it comes to the level of work and attention to detail that Mark clearly demonstrated in the rails and blinds of this Anniversary it clearly shouts out master craftsman in the art of building table parts and finishing them parts to a level of being a work of art, a labor of love is required to achieve the effects that Mark performs....as a standard to his level of craftsmanship. That is why I can rebuild a set of Anniversary rails to play at their best, but if my customer wants them refinished as well....I tell them to send their rails to Mark because that level of craftsmanship is beyond my level of expertise. What people don't know about Mark is that HIS standards when it comes to this level of craftsmanship leaves everyone else that claims to do this kind of work....in the dust as they could only WISH to be as good as Mark is, but will never pay their dues to get to Marks level of expertise.

It is beautiful.

Here is a word of advise. I don't know who will be playing on that table but you will need to get some rubber or vinyl chalk holders to protect those nice rails. The rails on my table recieved many indents from the chalk being put on the rails and some dents from the chalk bangers.

After refinishing my rails I instruct people not to bang the chalk on the rail and not to place it with the chalk side down. I also have my chalk in those vinyl holders, not those hard plastic type but those that are softer like the plastic dip that is put on Channel Locks Pliers.

My wife though she was being clever and bought me a personalized brass chalk holder with my intials engraved on it. Nice thought but bad idea. Needless to say it does not get used.
