Another good reason to require 50-posts and gold membership, before you can start a thread in the AZ wanted / for sale.
Can you tell us something about the cuemaker who built this cue.
Thanks
Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on that. I haven't reached your criteria and have had some very successful transactions, both buying and selling. I have also offered a full refund on any item sold. Completely ostracizing newcomers would be bad for the whole community and inevitably discourage new members. I agree that there needs to be some type of method for screening and ferreting out undesirables, but I don't think your idea is the solution. Bottom line is that all buyers need to utilize common sense and take the necessary steps to protect themselves; especially with high value transactions. "Caveat emptor".
Now I agree more with what you say. I buy, sell, and build custom and high end guitars. Many of those forums require members to register with an ISP email and a credit card. Some also offer or recommend a broker service to handle transactions. This is more along the lines of what I meant as far as methods for screening and discouraging unethical persons from joining. You're grandfathered in><
My suggestion is designed to discourage the cheapskate Ebay seller that stumbled across AZ Billiards through Google, and thought "what the **** is this place, I can sell my crap for free, I don't have to disclose anything, I can say ivory as many times as I want even if it it isn't even ivory, and just maybe if I take a free shot calling a $150 imported cue a custom cue, I could really make a score"
I wouldn't care if we had a free Ebay sub-forum on AZ for these cheapskates to post links to their Ebay sale, but threads like this one should be a $35 lesson to the seller.
It's been said many times that other large forums require gold membership to sell anything.
Most gun forums for instance require gold membership to sell, not to buy.
They also have a probationary period and require and ISP email address just to register.
You came on the wrong site trying to hustle. You want to play some pool ?
He was over in the Ask the Cue Maker Forum today claiming that it is now a Lucasi one of one, and looking for info on it
Those cuemakers know quite a bit.
Maybe someone in the cuemaker section can explain to him what the difference is betweeen this Lucasi for $2600,
and measureman's electronic store Lucasi for $200.
About $2400 Ted.
