Custom Pool Room

Wow almost 40 thousand hits on this thread. Seems everyone is enjoying watching this beautiful project. Would have made a great stop action video.

That's some nice orange peel texture but from the looks of that float job, you could easily have gone smooth. Still, everything looking awesome. Thanks for letting us sweat it. Now all the pretty stuff starts happening..........

Thanks Guy's. Well not much progress was done this weekend. It's been raining since Friday. I got the wife and kids to help me dust sweep and clean the room out and prep for painting. It's suppose to be in the mid 40's this week with a hi of 60 on Friday, so I might just wait to primer and paint then. I'll be sure to post pics then

"Heres a pic of where the stain glass design will go. I think the end result will give the room that extra little detail of class."

Any sneak peeks at the stained glass art you're going to hang?

That's another art-related hobby i'm interested in getting into. I have a design idea for a billiard lamp that would be in the same design as a Diamond Pro light in size and shape, but instead of a solid oak surround, I want to do squares of various stained glass designs all around the frame, taking the place of the wood. Might incorporate my kids' names, billiard related art, etc.

Yeah, here's a link to a tread I posted separately..............I've been experimenting with several tries. The more I do the better they come out. I have also thought of incorporating these into my table lights.

And here are some pics of some other stain glass pieces I started that I will fit above the Bar. I need to figure a way to illuminate these from behind with low voltage lighting. These are much smaller than the Hall way section. That one measures 8"x32". the bar glass measure 4"x15"

Thanks for the pics of the stained glass! Nice work. We're alot alike, wanting to incorporate all sorts of creative ideas into a billiard room. Did you have to take a class or researched stuff and figured out how to do it yourself? Great font design too.

Painting

Well I tried painting Sat but the it was just to cold. The paint had trouble adhereing to the walls. Forecast for Wednesday is a hi of 77. Beats Sat low of 40. Hope to post pics up soon.

That project is looking beyond awesome - except I read in your first post, something about a "budget" lol!

Yeah it may sound funny but I really am on a budget. So far I've spent around $6500. I'm shooting to complete everything under $8000 not including the TV's or appliances. Making everything from scratch really helps keep cost down.

Photos

I have an idea for you. When you finally get everything finished and everything in its place, you should take all of the photos that you have posted and create a slideshow and at the very end, lets see some live action of you finally getting to hit some balls in your room, then post it on here and YouTube, you could put it to music and create a little music video of your project.

Thats a great idea, except the last part of me hitting some balls, I wouldn't want to embarrass myself. But I really like the slide show idea. I definitely have enough pics to do it.

Fixtures Painted

Well we've had some really crappy weather lately so to keep me busy I prepped and painted all of the light fixtures to be ready to install after I paint the room. All of the Fixtures (lights, ceiling fans, hardware) finish will be brushed silver. So to not have the recessed cans stand out WHITE, I used Rust-Oleum Metallic paint. I found a good deal on a white track-light bar at the Habitat Restore. I also found a spot light there for $1 that I need to light the Cue holder.

Just found this great thread. My only comment design wise is that you should have put a shower stall in the storage room. You never know when you may have to live in your pool room!!

Neat project.

Sure and that self-provided elbow grease didn't hurt either.

Is it too early to ask the date for the Pool Room warming party? :)
