Sorry guys, I've been busy with others things. My parents 50th is at the end of the month and we have been planning a huge party. And since I've started this tread I have tried to post weekly updates, and I know I haven't this week. There hasn't been much progress lately. This past weekend I re-sanded the entry door and painted it again along with the house front door so they could match. I also did a little work on the top shelf of the Bar and my wife hung up some Bar decor. I finished the bath chair rail, installed the toilet and bath hardware. I also got the cable hooked up (just need a TV). I'll post pics of what I have tomorrow.

After that it will be a little slow considering I need to save up for the carpet. That's gonna be a pretty big expense.
I hope to start on the tables soon! And the table lights.

Well not much to post but here are few pics of stuff I have gotten done just to keep me busy.
I sanded the door a few weeks back and re painted it it along with the house entry door to match. The wife wanted the side light spainted too. It was fine the first time but I used a brush with the enamel paint and it left brush strokes, and as shiny as it was it reflected badly so I decided to spray it on instead.

Decor

My wife hung up some wall decor that we have picked up. I really didn't want to fill the room with signs so we agreed on just doing the Bar area. She had a good idea, it makes he bar look more authentic. Sorry for the poor pics. I lost the camera cord so I had to use my cell phone.

For some reason, I was thinking that you were a bit.....non-receptive to the word "mancave" at the beginning of this, but I clearly see a sign stating as such on the wall. What gives?

I'm bustin' yer balls, btw. :)

It looks fantastic. I really hope I get the chance to shoot there someday.

Have you thought of possibly hosting road players or pro's there for a night as they pass thru?

Just happened across this thread...jealously just doesn't cover how I feel right now!!! LOL
Incredible job so far!!! Looking forward to seeing more of your progress!!

lol!!! Wow it didn't take long for someone to catch that. "non-receptive" thats putting it nicely. I can't stand that phrase. Its an upscale Pool Room. BUT! my wife bought it for me cuz she thought it looked cool, so there it is. What can I say, I'm whooped.

Is that a sign for Dad's Rootbeer on that wall?

No, it reads Dads workshop. But I'd like to have a rootbeer sign. I've found a lot of old coke memorabilia but its a little pricey. And at the moment I can't afford to give to much attention to decor. My main focus is completing the room.

Small Details

Well I finally ordered the carpet last week, it should be 7-14 days for delivery. Mean while I've been taking care of some small details.
I finished all of the final details on the bath. New toilet seat and bath hardware.

Bar shelf

I was ready to put up the Flat screen TV so I needed to cap the bar shelf. I added spacers to clear the wires and I cut holes to let the lights breat. They get hot.

I also added the 9th coat of poly. In between coats I use a scotch bright pad to buff and smooth out any imperfections. Every time I do this the finish keeps getting better. I think I'm addicted. I think I'll add one more just to make it an even 10 coats.

Most of you who have followed this thread know I love shopping for deals. I came across this towel rack I'd been looking for in a satin finish for $5.
We've had several parties and its helped me realize what the room needs.

Is there no end to your talent? Unless you're the person building my dream pool room, I will never be posting pictures of it on this website! This will be an impossible act to follow!:bow-down::bow-down::bow-down:

Everyone should post their pool room pics quickly before this room is finished!:D

My workplace has the same toilet roll holder that you have, with a support only on one side. It is constantly coming lose and tilting. I'm curious if ours is not mounted properly, or the design is flawed. How did yours mount to the wall?

An old style bottle opener mounted to the side of the bar would a nice touch.

I firmly believe that it is time to starting the bar.

I srewed the bracket to the stud with 2" screws. When plastic drywall anchors are used its very possible within time they will break loose. I make it a common prctice to attach everything to the studs.

I like the way you think! I've seen several on ebay for a few bucks. I just haven't gotten around to ordering one. Thanks for the reminder.

Well I apologize for the lack of updates. I lost my camera USB cable and ordered a new one. Since posting the last pics I've lost the new cable!:banghead: I've got lots of pics of taking the tables apart and removing all of the trim as I'm getting ready to have all of the parts powder coated. I also started stripping and sanding all of the mahogany wood. Carpet has been ordered, microwave has been installed and the double door mini fridge should be arriving on the 4th. This weekend I plan on cross bracing the subfloor with triple 2x8’s underneath where the tables will be located just for additional support. If time permits I also have planned on giving the walls a final coat of piant before the carpet gos in. With all of the trim and detail work it's been hard not to bump, bang and chip the walls. As soon as I get a cord I'll post pics.
