Custom Prather Full-Spliced Cue In Progress

Sorry to hear about your first build. It really was looking like a great player. That really blows when that happens. Not that the first build was any slouch but it looks like Jeff dug even deeper into their great stash of wood for this beautifully grained piece. Hope all goes well on this one! Knock on wood!

Good shooting to you,

Kevin

When Jeff built my blank for me, a few years back...he got it to one of the first turns when the tulipwood just moved. He called me immediately and told me he was going to look for another piece of tulip, and build a new blank. The piece he found was even nicer than the first piece was, and the blank turned into an amazing playing cue!! Top notch folks at Prathers!!!

Update #11

Jeff got it all glued up and turned it down a little. The veneers look fantastic! In the last pic, the two cues on the left are not mine, they are made for other cuemakers. My cue will sit around for a while now, more pics to come down the road. Enjoy!

I love this cue, and I've loved watching it come together. This cue inspired me to have my Al Link sneaky made, which is very close to completion. The patience it takes when waiting for a cue is unmeasured. I will enjoy watching the completion of this cue!

Update #13

Jeff is working on the trim rings, lookin pretty nice so far, they
match the veneers on the points. This cue will have a flat-faced
ivory joint with a 3/8x11 brass pin. Should have a nice hit!

Thats my cue on the far left!!! I have been following this thread for a long time.

I was going to post the complete build when it was finished

Update #14

Jeff got the ivory joint installed with matching rings,
as well as the butt cap. He also picked out a very
nice shaft and added rings to it too. Thanks for
looking

Josh -

I love the cue and the work, except that 1916 sticker thing...what a distraction.

Nice job on design.

Ken

I have a 1998 ebony/ivory 6pt as my everyday player and also a 4pt titlist style sneaky on backup. Both are top notch cues and hit very well. It will be well worth the wait!
