Cut Shots - Do you use Center of Cue Ball or Edge of Cue Ball for alignment to the Object Ball or Both

the learn to hit those thin cut shots your mind needs to be trained. not an aiming spot

so shoot a 100 thin cuts down near the long rail with the cueball just past barely the object ball.
your mind will adjust to how your hitting them and learn the spot. you try to adjust if hitting too thick or thin. use no spin so all shots are the same. you are training your mind.

after they are second nature all the cut shots start to come in place.

Nope.
" I don´t care contact spot. It is too hard to see unless shot is close to straight in. I don´t recommend still players use that kind of aiming unless you are familiar of all aspects that affect the shot."

Pretty clear English there. I'm not even arguing.
hmm i meant i don´t recommend my version of aiming. haha. Coz it is complicated first. Unless it is been taught. Yeah i make mistakes on English. I am Finnish and English is 3rd language for me.

No harm no foul. I understand you have a way of shooting that has to be optimized for your work. If we understand that contact points are simply the way balls connect and not irrelevant because they're too hard to keep track of (lol) then sincerest no fault apologies (like the car insurance) to you and your student base. Happy Holidays.

I think I get what the OP is asking and I think I do a bit of both, whichever fits and works.

I'm surpised CJ hasn't chimed in with his "Touch of Center" system for insanely thin cut shots.

Had to guess between sacrasm or not. Legit was safer. My take on method is it should produce picture perfect results 100% of the time. Forget the unlikelihood of achieving that, the operative criteria is "picture perfect" and for that you need to start with guess what?
A perfect picture!

Ok, now you can go, "ok". :D

Ok

I have been observing sometimes that a less than full to half of a Cut on the Object Ball, I use the Center of the CB to the imagined contact point on the Object Ball. But on thin Shots it seems easier to see or imagine the Edge of the Cue Ball striking the Object Ball on a Cut Shot. What do other Players do? Just trying to get some additional input.
I really don’t think about it and don’t want to think about it. I just look at how much of the object ball I need to cover with the cue ball.

Have you tried FHE? It works the same as BHE, but works at much slower speeds. Got that from Dr Dave. It works well when you need to hit softly.

To be effective over a wide range of shot speeds, shot distances, and amounts and types of spins, different combinations of BHE and FHE (based on your cue and bridge length) is the way to go. That's what the System for Aiming With Sidespin (SAWS) is all about.

i aim the shot to make the ball .... what am i missing?
Hours of therapy and soul searching. Countless postings, website, publications, videos and theories on something that never crossed your mind and should never enter your psyche. I would avoid anyone whose initials are SS.

like it crossed your mine before people started talking about it

Dr_Dave this certainly helps on solving some scenarios that I wasn't sure which way to approach it consistently.
