Here's my feelings about them, and they kept me in a bad mood for some reason. What I found is this, with my new eye prescription, I can clearly see the sharp edges of ball numbers on any of your average or high end ball sets....but my eyes cannot pic and see and exact spot on the object ball, weird and I'm not impressed. Now the diamond red logo on the cue ball has nice crisp edges, but nothing else about the ball set is define, nebulous at best, perfect word to describe the balls markings and outside edge of obj. ball. It feels like they are glowing NOT in the dark.

a buddy of mine got a set of the skittles balls, and we shot with them for about...6 hours or so over two days. for whatever reason, my cutting of balls seemed better than with a standard aramith set. i felt like i could see the edges a little better. after reading all the issues with the cueball, we did use a measle ball instead of the cyclop cue.
i think they seem to take throw on bank shots a little more than aramith as well. all in all...i really enjoyed using them, and would love to be able to shoot with a set on a regular basis. unfortunately, i don't see the pool room owner investing in anything anytime soon much less new ball sets.

A friend of mine came over to play at my house and bought a set of cyclop balls. A few of us get together to play some one pocket. We played partners for about three hours and quickly determined that the cue ball with that big eye ball had a lot of wobble to it at the last foot of roll or so. The object balls seemed fine. We packed the balls away and went back to our regular measle ball.
Maybe the cue ball was faulty. My friend is testing it and will let me know what he finds.

I just took a close look at the nine ball, and noticed the number wasn't centered. Slightly towards 11 o'clock.

I used them for 4 days at the expo and really didn't feel they played all that different but then again I take pride in my ability to adapt..as a bar league and tournament player you have to. lol

What's the reason for another set of high priced pool balls? They sure don't play any better, look any better, or are they better for TV. Johnnyt

It's because they have a much thicker clear coat over them. It's really bad on the cueball as it looks like you are hitting air and aming is a bit off.

I find that the Cyclop balls are OK as long as you use a different cueball. Which is actually what you find going on with many tournaments, they use the Cyclop balls due to the sponsorship but use a different cueball so the players can actually play properly hehe.

I have seen this with racking during one turnament. They used the Magic Rack, but then they also placed the sponsors rack over the racked balls. Was pretty funny to see if you knew exactly what was going on.

And that's exactly what was happening with that cue ball in Vegas at the CSI events recently.

the cue ball is a little harder to control, my Uncle in Vegas has them, and that's what there going to in league and tourney............ I didn't mind them much, I like the color scheme.......... you never know what cue ball and balls your gonna run into out there, so I like to see different sets and combos from time to time

Balls

Greg Sullivan bought a set in to bank shot an left them behind the counter. We use them all the time, seems to me they make a little different sound when cue ball hits ob. Also the cue ball does have a very different look to it, but I like it. Since the First time I used them I have liked them, an I do seem to play better with them.

Most likely a big order was placed for these new balls W/O trying them out in a tournament first and there are many sets of the balls to sell. When they are gone they will fade away and we won't hear any more about how good they are. When the CB rolls like an egg, that's all I have to know about how good they are. Johnnyt

Is this the set with the flourescent like cue ball?

It felt and appeared that way to me. When I'm always looking at specific and exact contact points between two objects colliding.....I like feedback that is visually clear, period. That way I get more input to the muscle memory part of play development.

I'm curious I remember reading one of your threads a few weeks ago asking were to play, said you only been playing on your home table for a very long time. So if that's true when have you ever used a set of these balls? I played with them at Derby City an at bank shot an have never seen a messed up cue ball, have you personal?

I still have problems distinguishing between the six ball and the seven ball. I LOVE the old Centennial colors. If it ain't broke why fix it! ;)
