Dale Perry ebay cues

DP cues

Dale used to make higher end custom made cues and his cues were fairly well respected for their quality and workmanship. At some point, he decided to change his business plan and started turning out lots of cues and marketing them on ebay, his "1 /1" line.

If you search his 'completed listings' you will find that his cues typically bring between $100-$175. One thing to take note of is, when he states that the points or inlays are "ebony black", that means he is NOT using ebony wood but, some black filler material instead. He will tell you this himself if you ask. Obviously, the white material he uses isn't ivory either.

There will be some on here who are not at all impressed with Dale's ebay cues but, IMO, they are a good hitting cue and the quality is hard to beat at that price point.

IMO, Mr. Perry has the right to run his company any way he sees fit. If it's putting food on his table, then more power to him.

A teammate of mine shoots with one of these 1/1 e-bay cues. I've hit some balls with it and thought he got a good deal for the price he paid for it, which was around $125.

I played with one for about a year and a half. Found it to be a good playing cue. Very solid hit, excellent balance, well made. Can't go wong at that price.

DP Cues

I have one and like it for a bar beater. It plays great for the price and of it gets hurt it wouldn't break my heart. Some of them are kind of on the tacky side, but of you don't like what he has wait a few days as he usually adds 2 or 3 a day.

A lot of cookie cutter patterns. Makes for easier production. Good cues though. I'd go as far as saying you can't go wrong for the money.

I've bought 3 of them @ $150 each. Two were for gifts. Like what was said above, you can't beat them for the price". Johnnyt

Ditto here.....

Another thumbs up here. I had been out of pool for years, and wanted an inexpensive cue to play while I was knocking the rust off my game, and I went with an ebay DP. I spent the extra $100 for Dale's radial shaft, and frankly, it was EASILY one of the best hitting cues I've ever used, and I've owned many really nice custom jobs from well-known makers.

Not a fan of many of the designs on the ebay DP's, but he lists quite a few, so you can find one with a pleasing appearance to you if you're patient for a few days. Really like some of his slightly more expensive cues he's listing now, think he calls them his Premier series. Some posters here have had bad customer service experience with Dale, but I had no problems with my transaction. Terrific cues for the money, IMO.

I see zero reason not to spend the 99 BUCKS, for the Cue. You can play Pool with it. Efren Reyes could play, and beat 99% of the people who post on AZB at any game of Pool with that cue! IMHO!!!!

This looks like it could be a very nice present to myself. http://cgi.ebay.com/Dale-Perry-DP-P...846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51999fb606
Is there anything I should know? The price is suspiciously cheap.

I don't think you need be suspicious since the cue is being sold by Dale Perry himself. I bought one from a fellow AZ'r for $150 to use as a league beater and I have no complaints at all. You will probably want to re-tip it though.

BTW, the $99 does not look like a "buy it now" price. Don't get caught up in the bidding and pay too much.

Yeah but his talent is worth $20,000,000 on the open market = $20,000,099. At which point it becomes a Sotheby's auction.

Someone was after a review of the DP-R shaft on the, er, review board the other day - I too am interested in some feedback, specifically how LD it is.

I'd buy one of his ebay cues in a heartbeat if he dropped the price of international shipping - $100 to ship a cue to the UK is ridiculous.

I'm amazed that he can sell his cues so cheap. I know three people who now have purchased one off eBay in the past few months for $110- $140. I haven't shot with one yet but will have to soon and see how they shoot:grin:

If this guy gives his approval, you want to jump on it! Johnny knows whereof he speaks. At that price I might try one myself!

Just a quick reply to the gentleman who mentioned the $100 shipping fee to England. In actuality, go to England's ebay, and try to get a "Snooker Cue" shipped to the US. You will see that it is VERY expensive.
One will often pay as much for shipping as for the product itself.

Don't know WHY it takes that much to send in/out of England, especially when one can get personal delivery from CHINA/PHILIPPINES in 3-5 days from EMS for $50.!

Not true, actually. I can ship a British cue to the US for $50. I've just taken delivery of a cue from US Ebay, which cost $32 to ship to the UK. $100 is extortion, nothing less. I suspect DP charges this to discourage international bidders - a shame but it's his business.
