Damnit to hell ! ! !

darn Brian :-(

Wow Brian :-( sorry to hear :-(

But if it makes you feell any better at least you have a table to practice on.

Sorry to see that Brian. At least you'll get KC back and blue cloth.
Say, I'm hoping that my picture of Danny B wasn't on the table when it got wet eh?

Really nice pics.

BTW, a fact that's all been lost here, but.......why the heck didn't you have a cover over the table?

I have a not-so-elegant Crusader 8-foot table, vintage 1983, that I put a pretty nice cover over EVERY SINGLE time I finish playing. The flood would have rolled right off of it.

Anyway, glad to see that RKC is going beyond the call of duty to help an AZ'er.

Someday I hope to have him set up a Diamond or GC for me.......

BTW, is that a Chevy 350 or 383 in the boat? Lose the Edelbrock carb and grab a Holley. You'll never look back! :)

That is absolutely horrifying and I totally feel your pain. My table is not 1/10th as nice as yours and if that had happened to me I'd be inconsolable.

Hope everything works out okay and your table is restored to its prior glory.

Oh, and you may want to get those cue cases up off the floor a bit in case this happens again.

Damn

Ohhhh brother, I empathize your pain.

Note to self: Never have game room under ANY type of water source. 2nd floor all the way.

Jay P.

Crappy

You should get your cues out of there before the humidity screws them up.

all right, all right, all right, I ordered the 860 HR tourney blue - but I may end up painting the room, which btw, I just now found out needs large areas of sheetrock demo'd to access and remove wet insulation. it keeps getting more fun.

here's the HUGE development. hard to believe but my pal RKC says he's got me covered, figuratively, and literally.   He's coming to fix me up next week! How about that? Things are defintely looking up.

Now, Mr. Brumback, yes that is a carp in the pic - good eye. There's a row of pics there many featuring big carp. My buddy holds the common carp record here in CT at just over 42 lbs. My personal best is 34.

At the end of last season, 3 buddies and me went out on my boat of the season finale in November. We were targeting pike with live suckers and at the very end of the day, after being shut out and as we were reeling in our lines I got a big hit. It was a small mouth that came right to the side of the boat, broke the surface, didn't like what he saw, bent in half and effed off into the depths of the lake breaking off the hook. :( My buddies, the three experts on board, all agreed that it was a state record smallie by a lot. The standard record is 7 lbs plus and they were positive this one was well above 10 lbs. Yep, the proverbial one that got away!

JB, I know you're an avid fisherman so, if you're ever anywhere near CT, let me know. I have a very unusual and fun boat that gets to fish quickly and comfortably. ;)

The marlin is plastic.

below are pics of a 23 and 27 lb common as well as a couple boat pics.

thanks to everyone for your funny, critical, and supportive responses. :-)

best,
brian kc

WOW! catchin em on one of them there bolies, right? Is there ever any big bank tournys up around there? Man I would love to do that with ya.What a rooster tail! Is that you in the boat holding the big ole carp? I hooked one the other day while crappie fishing and finally landed it 12 min later...17lbs! Not huge but pretty good for 6lb line.I love carp by the way.One of the hardest fighting fish we have around here.Cool stuff you got buddy.
Anybody that fishes is ok in my book:smile: Now if they don't..better keep an on them kind:p
PS: losing that big smallie was way way worse than getting your ugly cloth wet. John B.

Wow, tough break on that water leak. If its real wet, first thing I would try is a wet vac. After that, grab an air compressor and spray the hell out of the wet spots. You might be able to force some water out, it cant hurt. As a final last resort, spray some fabreeze fabric softener on the areas that got rough or hard after drying.

Man I want a boat like that, I love fishing!

Have them clean up the broken glass while they are there.

It could have been worse. My neighbor came home to several inches of water after his second floor toilet feed broke loose.

:rolleyes:Hey wait a minute, I have the best hitting gold crown 1 on the planet. No, that sucks man would make me sick. I had to go check on mine. Hey Glenn, after you fix the Chicken's, I could use a recover.

KC...maybe you should start using the term 'pocket billiards'....

...your house isn't grasping the concept of the term 'pool'....:groucho:

Brian

Lots of color talk and clash talk for a guy with a V8 in his fishing boat. Conflicted much bud?

Nice move to that blue cloth, you will be a happy camper and all your friends will find the color combination divine.

Speaking of friends, that move of having RCK on call is awesome. If I had that connection, I'd have a Centennial in my Living Room so fast it would make your head spin.

Sorry it happened, it must have been just killer to come downstairs and see that. Way congrats on getting it handled and its a great deal that you will be better off when RCK is done. I hate shelling out dough just to get back to where I was.

Kevin

progress...

thanks again to all for the nice mix of funny and supportive comments as well as the wisecracks. I expected no less. ;)

hell yes kevin, i am a little conflicted but I do know color conflicts when I see em. and I do agree that once standing over it, the tourney blue will be nice.

clarification (fathomblue asked) on the boat engine - it's an olds 455 cu inch with lots of go-faster mods. and it is a holley carb, the manifold is an edelbrock.

jb, no big bank tourneys up here unfortunately but I'm sure I could arrange a bank clinic gig for ya - seriously, let me know, would be honored to have you come up here and fish/bank for a day or three. got a guest room with your name on it - just need some poss dates to work with.

yes, we use boilies for the carp as well as corn and turkey chufa (aka tigernuts) which is avail from Cabelas. the carp will even bite a chartreuse grub.

and yessir, pt, the 'pool' room may have been confused.

bambu, thx for the table drying instructions. rkc actually gave me some good suggestions to get me by until his arrival next week, including ironing the simonis cloth on low setting.

fonz and berko; yep covering the table after each use could have helped out here. not that I'm lazy but more to do with it not getting covered as oftenb as I should because I use it so often. this may have bit me in the behind, and even a little extra since berko was kind enough to g-i-v-e me a nice cover a month or so ago. :o

for those who asked, all cues and cases left the room, real fast.

will continue to update.

thx!

best,
brian kc
P.S. I learned something very helpful that I never would have believed. You can move a 9' gold crown on a carpet with ease by simply jacking up each end then letting the table back down onto large furniture gliders placed under the feet. No one from servpro, nor I, thought this was gonna work. The table was like it was on ice. Thanks RKC!

Man, what a bummer!! I feel for you. What a gorgeous setup you have, though. Great looking room!!

It never fails. Bad things always happen to nice people. I've always enjoyed reading your posts Kicking Chicken. You have a sense of humor that always tickles. So sorry for the flood. Yes indeed Sahib, the Pool Gods were angry. But not because of the color of your cloth. Actually, it looks really nice. But, as many suggested, I think the Simonis Tournament Blue will look fantastic. My Global bar box is covered in Simonis 860HR Tournament Blue. I think the Pool Gods were angry because you didn't cover that table. Lesson learned. When I read your initial post, I was thinking that it's a real shame after Glenn customized your table. I was surprised and delighted to read a little later that he would come back and set things right again. I'm certain all your friends on the Forum, as well as I, wish you good luck in getting your table back up and running. Please post some pics after Glenn does his thing.

Sweet move gliding that table outta there.

The Holley carb and Edelbrock manis on the 455 make me want to sing Beach Boy songs.

Love the updates.

Kevin

he's ba'ack!

RKC has been here a couple of days now.

Some changes are being made.

Hint: What does my setup and Notre Dame now have in common?

Hint 2: Think originality. ;)

More to come soon.

Best,
Brian kc
