For black history month at the Academy all athletes are encouraged to discuss what billiards and billiards commentary would be like if it was all black run and managed.
Unfortunately the billiard community never supported black pride events. The limited black representation in its governance and even less participation by black communities, are clear signs of racial discrimination and oppression.
The Academy is working to right wrongs of the past. It starts with a public discussion of why black in pool has been oppressed. The preservation of the black influence on pool has been limited due to historical bias.
People can support the restoration of black in pool by demanding support for the Cisero Murphy documentary and movie.
