Daniel Busch: I am sorry

First, I would just PM you, but I wanted everyone here to know that you do actually do a good job with your videos and not force you into a face-saving move like I did before.

I want to say I am sorry for calling you out in the fashion I did the other day. I should have just messaged you with quite constructive criticism (or none at all and just been thankful for providing video of the game I love).

The way I made my point was, by way of massive understatement, inappropriate. I realize I was immature and my comments were harsh.

My whole point, if you can get past the way I said it, is that I love this game. Like the rest of you, I wish it was watched by millions on live T.V. I wish it had slick production values and the money that snooker has, etc. etc. I know we all do. I know you do your best, as does UpstateAl, Alvin Nelson, etc. and that you guys are all hampered by the fact that some network isn't handing you wads of cash and that you take your free time to give the rest of us something when you aren't required by anyone to do so.

So, again, I am sorry. You guys do God's work. Keep it up. Hopefully you can take all my previous bs with a grain of salt and I will not post any more incendiary stuff here. I learned my lesson. I'll just sit back and enjoy this forum for what it's meant to be.

Daniel Busch is not a billionaire philanthropist that whiles away the boredom of being mega-rich by streaming free stuff to you and me whenever it strikes his fancy. Daniel works in service of a goal that is ours as well and lets us in on it for nothing... the promotion of cue sports.

Thanks for being a pillar Daniel. Hope to see you at Hard Times this fall when I make it out there.

Nice Job

This is how a man steps up and admits the error of his ways. Bravo to you sir! Its not easy to win people back over (especially strangers) after they form an opinion about you. But I think that you have done a good job by being sincere in your apology. If everyone was that good at admitting they were wrong, the world would be a better place. My hats off to you.

Forget all the kudos for apologizing. I see no reason to pat an adult on the back for that.

I say it to my 6 y/old all the time: sorry is not what the world needs. For you to not do the thing you apologize for it what you need to do.

I agree. To me saying your sorry is a process over time including actions. Once I see what a person is capable of doing, a well written apology doesn't quite make up for what they chose to do in the first place. Like that d-bag friend a lot of us have who have to apologize for the same thing on a weekly basis.

Great post

That was a great apology.........Well done ...We do need to have a bit more of this on A-Z............thanks for the post ................Ray Weeks

THIS...+1

MisspentYouth...good job to "man up" and admit a grievous error. We all make them from time to time (yep...even me! :D). You're OKAY!

Missspent Youth: I do accept your apology and understand your need to get your point across when you feel like you're not being heard or acknowledged. On the flipside, I have to digest rather negative statements and comments on a daily basis. After awhile you begin to become somewhat apathetic because you know in your heart that even though your final product is not perfect, you still feel it's good enough to be shared with the overwhelming share of the audience who have requested to see it.

All I'm saying is, that you have to consider both sides of the coin before you go chastising another person for their end product.

Your blast on me reminds me of Truman HW, who was a complete stranger to me 3 years ago and made scathing comments about my YouTube videos whenever I posted them. They were so bad and so negative that I actually banned him from leaving comments again. (Oddly enough, he's actually only 1 of 3 people that I've ever banned from leaving YouTube comments). After a few months, it turned out that Truman was a local pool player from Cali who played quite a bit over the years at Hard Times; we ended up meeting face to face and he stated to me that he dwas terribly sorry, that he thought I was a fully funded company with staff and resources... Kudos to me, I guess for branding the company in such a way that he thought I was that big.

Long story short here... He's still banned from my YouTube and we actually had it out again months later, over other stuff that happened during a pool game.

Lesson learned. I accept your apology, but to be honest I don't think it's going to change much for me or take away from the simple fact that people will still hate on other people's work, no matter how good or bad it really is.

I guess beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and somebody else's art will always be subjective.

Good luck on your journey!

I totally respect Misspentyouth for his seemingly heart felt apology. That's what a real man/woman does. Admit their mistakes and move on. Well said.

The knowledge here on Az Billiards is unreal, just a wonderful forum to be apart of !! You learn quickly that a miss step is corrected pretty darn fast, lol. Just yesterday, a newbie posted a reply to something I posted that was a little annoying, but, a long standing az member quickly jumped on the comment before I even saw it. When I first joined az billiards years ago, I thought I knew everything about pool and pool cues and was quickly humbled !! To me, positive actions are so wonderful and negative comments could be left out on a higher degree, unless of course, a scammer is found. I agree with Scott Lee's response is that this might have been a quick response and the learning curve is that we don't take in consideration that even if something is not 100 % posted as we may know it, people for the most part are trying !! A simple PM sometimes would be so much nicer than adding a comment to post. Has the person mentioned or offered any type of a follow up to me for their quick response for yesterday ?? No and I don't expect one. This is why I agree with Scott Lee's response above and give thumbs up to member "misspentyouth" as he actually put his butt out there with this post. Not everyone is going to agree with this post, but, I can respect this action. However, I also totally honor Daniel Busch for all his efforts as the effort he puts forward is 150 % as he is trying. He's a man of motion, a doer !! I have in my own family, many " men of suggestions---doer's of none" ... lol. I applaud the efforts of many who at least try.
