Your supposed one time event where Darren said he used the XYZ system had absolutely no bearing on the conversation that was being discussed. It was referring to a separate event with which you were not a participant.........except maybe in your mind.

There is no system for creative shot making. One of the reason I like 14.1 so much is the creativity you can have in shot making, more so then any other game.

There is no system that will help you with a carom/combo and have the CB open up a cluster of balls and get shape for the next shot.

I watched the Agony and the Ecstasy the other night. The masters of anything are way beyond using any from of system. What flows from them is themselves and nothing more.

Apart from the mudslinging, this is just a debate over semantics.

It seems to me that what rrick33 is asserting about Lou's (or anyone's) aiming is just a facet of, some variation of, the Theory of Learning. So, yes, one could say that Lou learned to aim via some system of learning. However, that is not the same as saying that Lou learned a system of aiming.

How I learned to play had nothing to do with mathematics -- it had to do with a consistent PSR. What I learned, over time, was that: if I set my body parts into the right positions, in the right relation and balance to each other -- think a big hanging mobile -- the balls, as I saw them, would go, regardless of what I was trying to do with the CB.

BTW, you wouldn't need to do use the chimp and banana references if you had any sand to begin with.

I'm curious, why would someone who is adamant that they never used an aiming system, read through the aiming section of AZ Billiards?

Everybody's brain uses some sort of system to aim.

Whether you can recognize it, identify it, or explain it is another matter.

The brain is a computer. Computers do not function unless there is some sort of programming involved.
