I believe in giving credit where credit is due, so heres a pat on the back for Tom Hassos.

I contacted Tom after he had posted pictures of his taper bar set up that he designed for a larger lathe. I asked him if he would make me a point milling bar that I could use on the Deluxe. He said he had a proto type bar that I could have. I got that for a decent price and when I opened the package, not only did I get a very nice piece of milled aluminum, with pre drilled holes that can be adjusted forward and back, I got a drill bit, tap and enough hex head screws to do the job.

Now that is what I call customer service when a guy goes out of his way and adds extras that probably cost him more than his asking price for the milled aluminum.
Now all I have to do is get a piece of Delrin, fit it to the pre existing holes
for the Deluxe taper bar and set Tom's bar, drill and tap and I am going to have a pretty sporty add on for the Deluxe.

Buy the way, Tom also needed my phone number in order to ship and had to do a little detective work to hunt me down as my computer blew up and I had to get another so I wasn't online for a couple of weeks.

Thanks Tom, its guys like you that make cue repair and building a more pleasurable experience.
Terry.

Too bad it did not come with that .
Tom is a good guy.

When my wife asks what I want for Christmas, I'll have to show her a pic of the shaft machine. No problem, I'll just send her out for some overtime at the hospital.

That shaft machine isn't cheap, but if I had the money, I would jump all over it. That is by far the absolute best tapering machine I have seen..... EVER.

I want to also add to this thread and say that I have done business with Tom and he is an incredible inventor / machinist. He went out of his way to help me when most others would not have. It is because of him that I am able to use my lathe and make cues now.

Thank you Tom.

A first class guy making top shelf equipment is a good combination. I don't like to have to offset the tailstock, and have long thought about a similar set up. This sounds like a pretty simple part to make available in quantity and make a few bucks for your trouble, especially if the angle of cut can be adjusted . . . Tom?

big rep

While we're giving pats on the back.

Just recieved and installed taper bar setup from Tom.

First Class is the only way to describe this experience from start to finish.
This guy is mega talented

In all fairness to Tom, i will be be posting a review in a seperate thread with pictures and more details.
