Kim Davenport comes through the 1 loss to beat Parica in the finals. Jose was the one that put Kim in the 1 loss side.

11-8 was the final score.

Nice win for Kim.

Thanks for the report Frank. Did you offer Kim the last 2 after the tourney? ;)

WOW, that's an awesome win for Kim!! Isn't this only his 2nd tourney since returning?!?! Good for him, way to not miss a beat!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching him at the Joss finale but, to be expected, he seemed a little off. Great to hear how quickly he has rebounded.

Make no mistake about it - I watched every shot of two of Kim's matches. He played championship speed on fast tables with 3 7/8" corners.

He's in stroke and he's back in town.

No doubt.
Real happy that he will be part of the tournament trail again.

Good news for our sport. Kim always presented and conducted himself with dignity, and was always a credit to our sport. Well played, Kim!

Are you sure they were 3 7/8? They sure did not seem that tight to me.

That's what MexPoolPlayer posted in the other thread. I didn't measure them up. They might have been a little bigger but certainly not by much.

I thought the players did well on those tables. The pockets seemed to drop well even though they were obviously tight.

The cloth still had some slide in it...but I think they were set up perfect.

Pockets were tight enough that you had to pay attention, but receptive enough that you could put a firm stroke on it and not worry about it getting spit out......They played fast enough that you really did not need much stroke to move the ball around.....I kind of liked the blue cloth also...(first time on that cloth)

pockets

yup. 3 and 7/8. New cloth makes them tons easier... unless someone else changed pockets, TRUST ME, its that small... ;)

Awesome performance by Kim
He is one of those few American men with very, very expensive ward robe.

I can't wait to see the pics of him in his robe ;) What a great performance by Kim!

That's great news for Kim, seems like he has recovered from the bizarre eye accident that occured a couple of years ago. Talking about talent, the guy wins a tournament right after his comeback... Congrats to Kim Davenport !

Since there isn't any governing body in pool and no awards are ever given to players in recognition of one feat or another...I think he should receive the Ben Hogan Award from golf which is given to a golfer of prominence that has incurred a serious injury or illness which has taken them away from the game...but they were able to battle back and once again make a major mark in the sport.

Although no such award exists in pool, since he sustained his injury by way of golf, in my opion no one deserves it more than Kim. What a phenomenol feat!!

Can you imagine if Kim comes to Chespeake Beach, VA in a few weeks to compete in the U.S. Open and wins the whole shebang?!

Beating Jose Parica when he's in dead-punch stroke speaks volumes to me!

I hope we get to see a few pictures of this tournament -- SOON! ;)

THAT's the stuff pool dreams are made of, and a story like this would sure be a boost to the game/sport.

And not only for Kim himself. Everybody loves to see a winner, especially one who's overcome an injury and then goes on to excel in their chosen profession. :)
