Day 2 Mosconi Matches in Progress Coverage

Boyes breaks dry - the USA is definitely outbreaking Europe thru 6 matches.

Corey is hooked on the one just barely with the 5 ball in between. He rolls out to a strange position, leaving Boyes a makable shot. Boyes butchers it ....I told you he was nervous, but gets a tremendous safe out of it.
 
Corey with a nice kick to the one, almost scratches and leaves Boyes a shot. Makes the one, does his Johnny Archer impression of picking lint that is not there and plays safe on the two. Corey almost kicks it in the side.

Boyes is left with a close cut to the side but elects to play safe again cause he is scared to run out. Corey puts a one pocket kick safe back on him. Boyes can see the 2 but has no shot but another safety which he fails to execute.

Corey long rails the two ball straight back. He has a runable table except the 7 is tied up with the 9. Gets out of line on the 5. Tries a safe behind the 7/9 and leaves Boyes a shot on the 5. He musters up enough heart to make it and now should be out.
 
Boyes opens with a dry break against Deuel, but Corey must push. Pish out isn't very good, but Boyes misses the one, fluking a snooker. bad break for Corey.

Boyes has the lead in the resulting safety battle after a near kick-in of the two by Corey, but Deual fights well to grab control of the table. Corey banks in the two but goes wrong on a safety on the four.

Boyes surely didn't expect the chance that he got, but he runs out for a 1-0 lead.

Corey will feel this was a missed opportunity.

Boyes rubs the 8 after pocketing the 7 but gets away with it. 1-0 Boyes.

Corey breaks, makes the one and has a tough cut on the 2 ball. He elects to shoot it instead of playing safe. Misses and scratches.

Boyes with ball in hand, doesn't know what to do. Finally figures it out and starts his run out with a 2-8 combo.
 
Boyes finishes his run out. Corey had him on the ropes the first game mentally and letting hiim up for air probably will cost him the match.
 
Corey could have played a pretty routine safe on the first shot.. It surely cost him
 
Deuel breaks wet, narrowly avoiding a scratch into the side pocket. Overcuts the two ball and scratches the cue ball into the top corner.

Boyes combos in the eight and he's in control. Should be out .... and is.
