DCC nine ball rules?

The DCC nine ball is supposed to be a Matchroom ranking event and this year I think all such events are supposed to be using Matchroom's rules. The break box seems to be wrong on the TV table and I don't see any jump sticks. Does anyone know what rules are actually in use?

I can't stand the "must jump with playing cue rule." It creates an unequal playing field as it's nearly impossible to jump with low deflection shafts, so those with traditional shafts have an advantage. Plus who wants to put their playing cue through that type of torture anyway? I'm fine with having to jump with your full-length break cue if that's the rule.

Apparently these, because the rules certainly don't resemble either WPA or matchroom.

I think that Matchroom uses the WPA/WSR rules except for the break box and break speed requirements.

Here is a link to the current DCC rules in detail. These seem to be about what DCC has always used:

I just skimmed though my first 9 ball match, Alex vs Jayson, and it looks to me they were using the MR break box:

On the feature table they were using a break box two diamonds wide. The narrower MR box was also marked.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday when I bought the one pocket. It made zero sense. Banks and One pocket don't need the box, and why have 2 boxes for the 9 ball? The only thing that might make sense is the tables were used elsewhere and already had the bigger box on it.

Did you see any 9 ball matches on the Accustats TV table? Which "box" were they going by?

I just played there, the box was specifically stated to be 2 diamonds and not the narrower Matchroom box. Most of the tables were not marked, but there were some marked with the narrower Matchroom break box, which only added to the confusion.

makes sense to have easier break rules in a pro-am with so many entrants. they need to speed it up in every way they can
