Looking at AZB main page, does anybody else think it is irresponsible reporting to have headlines such as "All but eight players dead in paris" and "Boyles among fatalities"?

Hyping headlines should not involve death and fatalities.

Obviously not in dead stroke.
Hope they're not drowning their sorrows...
..that would be in-Seine

Me, too.

Yep, scared the crap out of me, too. I think it was just a poor choice of words. It was definitely misleading.

That was my headline. I replaced the one that came with the story with the dead line. Wanted to see if it would gut anyone out to a response and it did. Sorry some of you are more PC than I am. I rather enjoy a good verbal shock wave. Now I want to go to the first line in the story and say "Made Ya Look!"

While I respect you as an author and pool knowledge master, I'd prefer if you leave the hype in the gossip rags. There is a good journalistic reason not to overhype headlines. Think of the a major news source writing that "Tiger Woods is Dead" in a pieces about him loosing a tourney. Sure, people are going to open it up, but they won't be happy when they do. Also, announcing the death of a player may lead to significant emotion from people that know and/or love the person (not to mention runaway rumormills that may cause panic). Just my $0.02.

I can't agree with this enough

Hyperboles tend to make the reader want to read on. An old journalistic trick.
It's like saying "The old Trampster eats poop sandwiches." when, in fact, I really don't care for the taste of bread. See what I mean?

Totally irresponsible and annoying. I will no longer be recommending any of my friends to check out AzBilliards.com.

Though the headlining author did admit, in his own way, and came forth with what might seem as apologizing . I think not recommending your friends to AZ would be a greater injustice. Just think about it before putting the ax to AZ.

Jerry,

I thought you were just making fun of someone else who was dishonest enough to pull something like this until some others on here seemed to know who you are.

Trust me when I say I am definitely not more PC than you. I just think that was a total scumbag move. I don't care if you say nigger faggot marries retard gook as long as it is true, but when you make up something that is a total lie just for shock value and to get people to click on the story I have no tolerance for that at all.

Ok. I actually agree with you on that. I won't take it that far. I take it back. I still think AZBilliards is a good site and will still recommend it to my friends unless this starts to become a trend.

But as you can see from my previous post that really pushed the wrong button for me somehow. Arg.

Ok. I think I got it all out. I feel better now.

As long as Roy "Da Fish" isn't taking lessons from Mattey Ullah, I will rest easy.

I just changed it. I did think it was a little over the top. Not the first time I have not agreed with Jerry's choice of headlines.

I really have nothing to add, I just wanted to quote this as probably the most universally insensitive statement ever made on this forum.

Stay classy Purp....
