Dealings with Chris Tate (Palmer Collector)

I can tell you from experience, his word is good!!! I bought a cue on e-bay that he had posted. It was a vintage huebler chess cue with ivory chess pieces and a stag horn joint. When I got the cue I was less than happy because the joint looked streaked with gray. I was not familiar with stag horn and I really didn't see it that well on e-bay. He took that cue back no questions asked!!!! and very gentlemanly about it I might add. I would not hesitate to do business with him again!.

Hey Jab, I remember you! Did you find a pretty good cue to play with?

That Ivory Chess Cue made a well known Huebler collector very happy too. It was no biggie - I resold it with one e-mail. It was from 1985 I believe.

What kind of success/failure have any of you had in dealing with Chris? I know I haven't dealt with many of you in the past, and from what I have read, I believe his reputation to be quite good. Thanks.

I too, had a great experience dealing with Chris. A joy to work with.

A cue dealer friend of mine has done at least one deal with Chris and has nothing but good things to say about him. I'd do business with him in a heartbeat.

Hi Chris, I found that older huebler that you commented favorably on in my "Szamboti and friends" thread. Thank you again for your latitude on that deal. regards,Jay.

Hey, that's great. That's a neat old Huebler. You have some really nice cues there. If you get a chance, check out my web site.

I still have a 60" Ivory Twist Custom shop and an unplayed Ivory Chess, maybe his last one. I kind of got into Hueblers when I bought one for my home playing cue in the early 1990's.

Chris bought a $10,000 Palmer off me, and when I asked for payment, he punched me in the face! Then I tried to sue him and he hired some super lawyer like Rob Shapiro who turned the court against me and I went to jail for 6 years! While I was in jail, he had my parent's home bulldozed. :D

Seriously though, me and him are good friends and the guy really is like a modern-day saint. You will never meet a nicer guy.
