Deano Cue

I think it's time we lighten up on the man

I have been a royal pain in the man's back side myself with my expose' on carom jointed cues and how IMO his cue is basically a carom cue with different dimensions... nothing new. BUT, let it be known the price of $300 is a pretty decent price because if you take the time and look for one with this same joint, you will be hard pressed to find a comparable wood joint carom cue for $300. I looked and none were available. The Helmstetters, atc all run $400-500. So with that said, let's all show we ARE good sports and let it go and thank him for bringing something different to us as a community. This is diversity at it;s finest and we should all appreciate it. He had to hype it because he believes in the cue and probably knew most would have turned their noses up at first site of the joint configuration without giving it a second thought. Visual prejudices would have prevailed. So call it a marketing experiment or whatever, but realize it is different and for the $300 it might be the deal of century. Let us ring in the new year with open minds and praise for new ideas andtry to leave our pettiness at the login screen.

Just my opinion. No, I didn't buy one, but if I had the finances right now , I probably would give it a try.

Everyone, please have a Happy New Year.

happy new year to you to larry. it has always been that way even thru the invention of the wheel , it is humane nature to mock what they see different or to make fun of even when they have no idea what they are talking about . im open minded were as a lot of detractors are closed minded . im still shocked at all the hoopla about this cue but like dean said i guess it is in a way good for business so keep it rolling :D

can you say Chuck Starkey? POOL cue, wood joint, wood pin on the butt end though, PLAY LIKE GOLD, WELL priced, WELL made, and he is a genlteman making cues because he loves doing it. ABSOLUTLEY, no attitude. I'll say what I can for his cues. I'll say this auction_guy, if this is a marketing tool, all of these threads, they worked. More publicity in the last week or two than anyone. I think the gentleman selling these cues has a highly over inflated idea of who he is. But, that's just my opinion, and you know what they say about those.

Ignorance

"im sorry i could help but see the irony of your post while all the time staring at your avatar ROFLMAO . now that is irony talk about karma roflmao"

Above is just another example of displaying your ignorance. It is obvious that you do not know the meaning of "irony," which, in fact, is ironic.

Deano - Got Your PM

If you would do a little research, you could find out all you wanted about Joey's cues. Joey doesn't need to explain himself to you - anyone who's participated on this forum for the last year knows him - if you don't, then maybe you should lay a bit lower initially instead of making your 'forum comeback' balls-to-the-wall.

Joey is actually a cue-maker and prides himself in his cue knowledge - as opposed to Deano, Joey actually knows why his cues play the way they do. That's why people want his cues. Deano is a Ronco Ginsu knife type saleman, and he's going after a low-budget uninformed market that pays for hype on a whim, hoping a piece of wood will be the miracle they need to learn how to play pool. Same guys who were into alchemy 600 years ago. I'm not guessing any of this - just read his posts.

Deano-Got your PM with phone number and don't see any reason for you and I to chat.

The idea that spending $300 for a Deano to improve ones game, rather than spending that same money on lessons and lots of table time, just doesn't make sense. The golf industry does this same infomercial schtick every year and the same guys buy the new equipment and their scores stay the same or even drop.

Future champion cueists-take the $300, get lessons and practice. I assure you that the payback taking that route will far surpass looking for an easy fix with a new cue.

Runscott pretty much sums it up.
