"The most beautiful motion is that which accomplishes the greatest results with the least amount of effort." - Plato.

Makes me think of Buddy Hall.

I like this definition! I used to say, "maximum results with minimum effort". The guy that comes to mind for me is Jay Swanson.

Keith could make the Cue ball do wonderful things with what looked like no effort. When Keith played, it was like a walk in the park. He strolled thru rack after rack, la de da.

No fuss, no strain, rack 'em up, and let's do it again.

YEA, but did you ever consider how many players games went south because they tried to emulate KIETH's sidearm style...

LMAO i can just imagine all these disgruntled pool players who can't make a ball cursing keith mcready!

on topic, thats a great definition of a beautiful stroke. buddy hall fits it the best i would say as well.

I like that definition. Some people play for years and anything that requires a stroke just looks painful hehe.

Read that quote on a site giving specs on what defined a good tennis racket. Boy, I never saw so much complicated physics as there were on the raquets. Guess if you include the swing, footwork, it would be massive. Gosh, pool is not only a highly enjoyable sport, but a much safer one. Never heard of anyone hurting themselves by picking up a house cue-unless they poked someone or tripped on it and broke their leg.

Definition of a stroke:

Jerry Briesath: A beautiful forward throwing motion.

Randyg: The transition of energy from a piece of wood to a piece of plastic.

Both simple and both correct...and to the point!

I've seen players that position the cue ball wherever they want with what seems like half of the stroke/cb speed that I need. The touch they have is amazing, seems like a God-given natural gift. I can't begin to say how envious I am....I have received instruction from some very reputable people, and I just don't have the "gift"....but with work and effort, I truly believe that it will come....I've made good progress. :p

Steve Mizerak. Effortless, smooth, fluid, and powerful. Poetry with a pool cue.

To date, Jasmin Ouschan has the most balanced, fluid, and technical stroke I've seen. Looks like a Tiger Woods swing.

> Mike Sigel. A few current examples would be Thorsten Hohmann,Neils Feijen,or Danny Harriman. Tommy D.
