Hey guys,
Just a question if the brains trust can help.

I have a friend with a Delta who brings it with him to league nights to replicate the experience he gets from his home table racks,
and now the people who run our local league have banned the triangles as they are claiming they chip and scratch the comp ball sets for league nights.

We absolutely can not see that this is the case and its certainly not noticeable from a home perspective and are more inclined to think this is being done politically and also to disadvantage our side.

Can the fellow owners of metal triangles shed some light on this if you can please ?
The only way the Delta rack is going to damage the balls is throwing or dropping the balls on the edge of the rack, hard.

Noisy racking is for real men. More funny.. the racking is loud but the blasting fk’d up music doesn’t bother anyone.
It ain’t the rack. It’s the racker. Balls do not need shake and bake 50 times. Bring back the Sardo … you’ll beg for a Delta

I'm getting a hrd one here. This thread is bring tears to my eyes. Happiness is a Gold 13 on a GC4.... w/inserts and it's still noisy. Is metal suppose to quiet?

The Delta will not damage the balls.

The complaints are just par for the course -- typical league baloney. A good tight rack offers the same for either side.

Just bush-league BS.

There's been no evidence presented Bob, just the all of a sudden ruling and accusations.
So, if I had to guess.... If the D13 doesn't have the inserts, it makes much more noise than wooden racks. I found the noise really, really obnoxious. On the other hand, the noise-deadener inserts do a miracle. They make the aluminum rack sound just like wood. It's possible that whoever is in charge made the connection of bad noise = bad for balls. Whether they can be convinced otherwise is a good question.

Does the D13 have the sound deadeners installed?

I have an older generation Dalta -13 and was told the inserts sold at Syberts will not fit. Any suggestions.

The Delta 13 is a great rack and will not damage the balls. It’s a bit heavy and noisy but it will give you a perfect rack of balls.

Buddy the older style you have there is similar to the "select" line from what i can tell.
In the inserts section at Seyberts, there is the choice for both so im sure they will clarify, but i think thats what ur after :)

That's the 1 piece cast version. On mine (the screwed together version), I had some scrap of leather at home and just cut it with a knife, and pressed it in there. I did a sloppy job and left it as a rectangle, did not try to match the rounded corners. It occasionally falls out. Works great for the noise though.
