Dennis Orcullo - Bad Form

in 2012, Dennis beat Shane in TAR 29 all-around. Dennis won 10b and 8b, lost in 1p.

Dennis beat Dazz in a TAR all-around last yr too.

Like him or not, the guy is easily a top 3 pool player when all games are considered.

If he wants to unscrew his cue when Shane is on the hill and being down 8-2, its not that big of a deal. I'm sure Shane could care less. As far as it being disrespectful to the railbirds, thats just plain silly when all things are considered(score, opponent, barbox, etc).

And for anyone saying he should be disqualified from the tournament, that's just plain dumb. It's his entry fee and if he wants to forfeit that particular match, thats on him.

Aparently Jayson was also acting in 'bad form' during his eventual win over Tony Robles. Anyone see what that was about? I'm a fan of both players I'd like to see either do well.

Who preceeded Ralf & basically threw the game to him?

Good question. Why dont you tell us what happened.

Did Dennis get accused of throwing the game, leading to Shane moaningabout it, leading to Griffin yelling at Ralf, leading to Ralf leaving, leading to Griffin putting Shane back in, leading to Ko getting screwed?

I heard Dennis never even threw the match in the first place.

I don't know and that's why I asked. I can't remember who played prior but I do remeber thinking while watching that he, for a better term, gave up. If you are confirming that it was in fact Dennis then this may be relevent to the OP and the post that I quoted. I in no way am accusing Orcullo of ever throwing a match. I apologize for misspeaking.

That cluster f@ck began with Ralf. It's all on him. He had a flight out on the day he left because he had a prior commitment elsewhere. He was leaving, regardless of if he had been knocked out earlier or was still in the event. Many could argue that Ralf screwed every player he beat if he knew he couldn't complete the event. I'm in that camp. CSI should've dropped the hammer on him for it, too. Others will say that Ralf paid his entry and should've played/advanced as far as he could have, to earn as much as possible, before he had to leave. None of the scandal would've taken place had Ralf not left early.

Not that I really think it changes anything at all, but Dennis asked the ref if he could go get something other than a magic rack prior to that break in the 8-ball on Wednesday. He was told that he could not and he argued it for a short time and then went ahead and racked with the magic rack and then crushed that break, sending the cue ball off the table.

He was down in the arena early today, working on his second ball break, and it seems to be working so far today.

So the guy that the OP accused of being a quitter has won 7 do-or-die matches on the B-side.

Let's see if this quitter has 2 more left in him to make it to the finals.

I'll never say Dennis lacks talent or the ability to come back in any game, match, or from any loser side bracket.

But based on what I have cited in the op, yes, I would say he has some quit in him.

best,

I think it's safe to say that quitting out of the tournament, and quitting to go to the B side are two different animals.

One saying F#@% it, the other giving oneself a chance to regroup and continue.
