Dennis Searing Cue

I have still no idea why this seller is being hounded for offering this cue at his price. I bought Joe Salazar's Searing yesterday for the price he was asking + extra $300 for another two matching Searing shafts. The price is fair. Dennis doesn't make many ivory jointed cues. Its rare and lets not beat about the bush here.....Dennis is the most in demand maker on the planet. If I didn't think the price was fair, I wouldn't pay it. Nor should anyone else. Fact is, if you want the best items, you have to pay for them, simple as. If you ponce about haggling, you miss out on the cue. Someone else will buy it.

The price on this tulipwood Searing is fair, market value for what is a very rare item. Is it still available? Seller please PM me if it is.

look above Joe Salazar selling ivory jointed for $3200.Everyone here knows Joe' markup is higher than anyone' in the world.I like Joe alot but that is a fact.He will come down on price.Bogey you are the one way off on prices.Just b/c you horsecocked some poor guy on a Schmelke blanked sneaky pete.I have a Searing if I decide to sell it I will call you first.I just bought a Brazilian Rosewood int BEM Hoppe style SS half joint, mint on Ebay for $1800 2 months ago.

Now thats more like it........................ :)

I have been watching Searing prices for over a year with the interest of buying one. This cue would have been gone with the initial post had it been of a darker stain with everything else unchanged. A fair offer price that I would have discussed with Marcus.

PROVIDE ME WITH A LINK, YOU MUST BE THE ONLY ONE THAT SAW IT.(DON'T SAY THE LINK WON'T WORK IF IT WAS ONLY TWO MONTHS AGO)

I ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER SERIOUS BUYERS WOULD HAVE BEEN ALL OVER IT. SOMEHOW NONE OF US SAW THE CUE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

The ignorance of some people on this forum is almost amusing. Perhaps you need an economics lesson on supply and demand or maybe it is just that you are jealous. I am the buyer of the Schmelke blank Searing from Bogey and am happy with the purchase and every other purchase I have made from members on this board. I would have already bought this cue from FAST N LOOSE but my house has enough damage from hurricane Wilma to keep me busy for several months.

Everyone's opinion is valuable to someone but unless there is a reason -- why be negative. Even if you do not agree with something, stating an opinion does not have to be an attack on the person you do not agree with.

yes.....please show the world the ebay auction link that you won.

would love to see an auction i slept on.

thanks,

chris

Marcus,if poeple are going to be brutal and hammer you about your price then lets really let the crap fly. Some people are just cheap b#stards who want the best but either cant afford it or just plain out of touch with the market. What you want for your cue is really up to you and nobody else. If they dont like the price thats tough shit, dont buy it.But dont throw out numbers about searings that were from years ago and say thats what the cue is worth today. Anybody with any knowledge about cues today will tell you that 2250 asking price for your searing is really not bad at all! I dont know why anyone would chime in and say some of these things.

While many say Ebay is a indication of demand on a particular cue, kindly note that prices for cue fluctuate depend on not just the interest of people looking on it at the time, but also on the feedback of the seller. u can get rolex on ebay for less than a 1k, but would u trust the "o" feedback ebayer sellin it? Most dont and thats why u get bargains ... if u take the risks.. That said its not a fair indication of market demand.

As far as i see it, a titlist from Gilbert sells for 600 while a titlist from Bushka sells for 6000. Same forearm, same woods, even same joint.. the diff would prob be just the name (branding)..

U may probably argue that i cant compare a Gilbert to a Buska.. then likewise u shouldnt compare a Searing to a BEM(?).

Just my 2 rupiah.

the cue on Ebay was started at $1500 and in the first 30 mins i happened to get lucky and see it.I asked him what he would take for it and he said $1800.I said deal if he pays shipping. His username was bluekorn i think, but i don't have a link.My buddy is listing it on ebay for me to sell.should be on tomorrow or late tonight.Starting at $1500.I also added a modified Predator shaft made by Alex Brick.he puts a tenon in the hollow part of the shaft and then a real ferrule. The ferrule is .5 inch ivory and plays a little more consistent than a regular Predator. He also just listed a very nice '99 Lambros for me at $1500 also.It is a $3500 cue all day long.I have thought about my initial post and I was wrong i apologize to you FAST and LOOSE.I guess it was sour grapes as I had one just like that and sold it 4-5 years ago for $700.Now I could get 2 dimes for it.I always have had bad luck selling stuff.I am one of those people who buy hi and sell lo.I hope you accept apology.Good luck with your cue.

IT'S A HALF INCH STEEL JOINT THAT IS THREADED ONTO THE FOREARM. IT'S SOMETHING THAT DENNIS OFFERS ON HIS CUES. IT ALLOWS FOR MORE FEEL THAN A STANDARD STELL JOINT. FROM WHAT HE TOLD ME IT IS HIS PERSONAL PREFERENCE. I CAN SAY THAT THE ONE I HIT WITH WAS AMAZING.

you mean like an ss collar on a flatface?

APOLOGY ACCEPTED. WE'VE ALL LOST MONEY DOING THIS. IT HAPPENS, I JUST TRY TO FORGET ABOUT THOSE DEALS AS FAST AS I CAN. HAVE A GOOD ONE MASON, AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SALE.

NOT EXACTLY. I HOPE I EXPLAIN THIS CORRECTLY, HERE WE GO.

THE STEEL JOINT STARTS OUT LIKE A STANDARD 1" STEEL JOINT, THAN THE LOWER 1/2 INCH IS MACHINED WITH THREADS ON THE OUTSIDE. THE FOREARM IS THEN THREADED OVER THE OUTSIDE OF THE JOINT, LEAVING ONLY THE TOP HALF INCH OF THE JOINT EXPOSED. I HOPE THAN EXPLAINS IT.

THE FINAL LOOK IS KINDA LIKE A SS COLAR ON A FLAT FACED JOINT, BUT THE CONSTRUCTION AND FEEL IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

AGREED, I'VE NEVER PUBLICLY MADE COMMENTS ABOUT SOMEONE'S PRICING. I JUST DON'T THINK IT'S RIGHT TO DO. I THINK THAT MASON WON'T DO IT AGAIN, AFTER READING HIS LAST POST. I THINK THIS IS NOW WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE.
