Dennis Searing Cue

Koop,

But that's new from Searing. Someone with a used cue who needs $ will often take less than retail. We both know that.

Mike

True enough Mike. I completely agree.

Also, not sure who posted the $800 for a pointed cue from Dennis (sorry), but actually it is $1300 for his basic 4 point with no veneers.

Koop

AGREED, A NON VENEERED FOUR POINT IS THE SAME PRICE FROM DENNIS AS THE CUES WITH NO POINTS. 1300.00 HE GIVES THE OPTION WHEN YOU ORDER IT. I WENT WITHOUT POINTS, BECAUSE DENNIS TOLD ME HE HAD A SPECIAL PIECE OF BIRDSEYE THAT HE WANTED TO USE. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE ONE I ORDERED, IT HAS SOME BAD ASS RING WORK ON IT AS WELL. HE SHOWED ME THE PARTIAL CUE AT VALLEY FORGE IN MARCH.

THANKS, I'M SURE SOMEBODY WILL BE EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH IT.

I would be but the Boss said NFW. That sure is a beaut, wrapless even dang near perfect.

i love the coloring of the birdseye. it's a break from your normal honey colored maple.

The funniest thing to me is everyone whines when there is no price, then when a price is posted, its hammered.

IT'S A HALF INCH STEEL JOINT THAT IS THREADED ONTO THE FOREARM. IT'S SOMETHING THAT DENNIS OFFERS ON HIS CUES. IT ALLOWS FOR MORE FEEL THAN A STANDARD STELL JOINT. FROM WHAT HE TOLD ME IT IS HIS PERSONAL PREFERENCE. I CAN SAY THAT THE ONE I HIT WITH WAS AMAZING.

Ok, that jolted my memory. I lived in So FLA in the 90's and do remember him describing that joint. I played with the original tulip wood handled cue he made. It was Dennis's playing cue for a long time and I asked him how much he wanted for it. I am sure it was no more than $800 (maybe even as low as $600) at that time, and I balked. <kicking myself>. The only difference to this cue was the rings. That was one of the prettiest cues I have seen.

wow.....that is funnnnnnnnny!

Isn't that brutal! Some of the same hammerers. Still, I appreciate it when a seller prices an item. Even for the most widely desirable cues, A$K is way lame here on AZB, IMO.

Martin,
There are some instances where a dealer or seller may just want to gage the intent of the inquiry. But we found out that with specialty cues, when they aren't priced, its just that they don't want other people using their prices as a barometer. Plus if you ask and you are a known collector, the price probably just went up 15%.

Joe (---always ask hi, you can always go lower... ;)

i do appreciate a seller putting up a price, but the guy is asking $2250 for a used cue that cost about $700-800 new.i know someone bought a Balabushka for $100 and sold it for $10,000,but you get my drift.4 points with veneers in mint or new cond MIGHT bring $2250.This cue if mint should bring $1500.This is a public forum man if you post up some crazy price like that you may get called out on it.Your prices on his cues are off by the way since you are getting technical.I talked to him a month ago.His $ point with veneers are $1400.His merry widows were $1200,but that one he had was with special big block ring work.

Cue Dealer Joe Salazar has a very recent and mint ivory jointed 4 point 4 veneer Searing with leather wrap and Hoppe style. It is beautiful. His asking price: $3,200.00. The cue was probably 2K new at most. The secondary market is what it is. I'd bet the cue will be gone by the time Joe packs up after Derby City.

mason,

sorry bud, but your pricing is WAY off. i just sold a sneaky pete blanked searing with a radial pin and 2 shafts for $2600, and the guy was thanking me.

he only make a handful of cues a year.
in most peoples opinion who have hit with his cues, he makes the best hitting cue on the planet.
i know people who have been waiting 5+ years for his cues, and are still waiting.

that combo makes for a HIGHLY desired cue my friend.

i have 2 friends with "bushka" styled searings. inlays and ivory joints. they have been offered in the 5 figures for them. they wont sell them either.

the last 4 veneered cue on ebay sold for $4000. fact.

leave marcus alone and let him sell his cue in peace.

don't slam his pricing cause searings are impossible to get.

Some people have no idea how supply/demand works.....

It's mostly people that desire high demand, low supply items but don't have the resources to get them!
