Dennis Searing

wonderful. I've made money on every cue I've sold. Maybe broke even on a few but that's with any cue. I'll tell you where i see it. I dont have 5 years and 4 grand wrapped up into it. Unless you're getting it brand new from dennis you aren't flipping it at a high rate. Odds are you purchased the cue on the secondary market and already paid the inflated rate.

So now how is your resale value?
I'd rather invest 900$ and make a 200$ profit them invest 3500$ and make a 200$ profit.
200$ is 200$ no matter how you add it up

As a longtime member with that hefty I trader score I'm sure you flipped alot of cues

LOL. No I dont remember a barry for 1600$ do you think that happens everyday?

also ppl look for searing everyday and you just aquired 5. LOL

I'm sure you can flip them sp's for a huge profit. I'd love it see pics of all the " steals " youve had

If I'm wrong I'd admit it. Again you have a 11k or so into 9k worth of cues. If your into them like you say. There are many men trying to figure out this market but apparently you have it cornered. Youve figured it all out. Congrats:rolleyes:

4 were in fairly good shape 1 had to be refinished[scratched no dents] but I'm having all 5 Searing refinished + 2 shafts each for customs[total of 4 each. 1 cue 5 shafts] & 1 shaft for each conv. total of two. Barry was traded for a new HALEY.

???????????

Every post seems to turn to controversy. I don't get it but I'm guilty, too. Jerry R makes a good cue but Dave you could be the only person in the whole wide world that thinks (maybe one more) they are better in detail an play than a Searing.

again if true Youve stepped in the preverbial "sh1t"
I lived near Philly a while and I got into alot of old palmers right. Just offered ppl any cue in the case. 600$ meucci for a model m is good I think.
That stuff happens but has little influence on the conversation bf it almost NEVER happens

Ps the guy that wants 3500$ for the searing has and will have it forever

Never said better or even equal.
Directly proportional given all factors. And yes my jerry with my name in it play better then the searing.

dAVE????????????????/

DAVE ON 04/03/08 you stated 59" Skip Weston I have it now an its the best hitting cue I've ever played with. They don't last long do they? It will be hard to flush this one with your name on it. I don't think it will be a money maker??????????????????/

Wait what skip are we talking about. 8 point bloodwood into ebony? Radial pin?

4 point 5 veneer bushka style with ivory dots and diamonds. Ivory joint
I still own this cue.
I dont know if he thought he has my old skip but he doesnt. I also stated it would have to be pried from my dead hands

Searing Cues.....WOW

I had the pleasure of meeting Dennis yesterday. I have not personally met too many cue makes in my time. However, this guy is absolutely a perfectionist no other word to describe it...
He spent over an hour showing me around his shop. Which was packed with equipment most of which he either designed or personally built. As to the precision of his cuts, trust me they are as he says. Having an M.D. degree and almost a Ph.D. in Physics, I understand precision and saw it displayed everywhere and on every cut. I think this guy would have made much more money designing medical equipment , but cue making is his thing. I love perfection and I'm willing to pay for it and unfortunately even wait years for it.
Before making accusation of either the validity of his claims or the quality of his work, give him a visit. Then I think you will see, learn and give the man the respect that he deserves, but does not ask for..

P.S. Dennis if you read this thread, move me up a couple of years...Just kidding.

Tap,Tap

Well worth the wait for sure!

ALMOST A Ph.D. is not a Ph.D, are you sure you understand precision:D :D Just kidding, I agree with you, I have had two Searing cues and they both were perfect.

Take Care

Actually

I think it depends on how close you are. I am almost a PhD myself, have been since 2002; today I am much closer! Hopefully by the end of the summer Ill be even closer to the big march!

Some people just cannot wrap their minds around the idea of and behind precision! They simply think a cue, is a cue, is a cue. Ignorance is bliss for sure, and a closed mind is a wonderful thing to lose :D

What Does A Phd Have To Do With Precision????

The Two Most Precise Craftsmen I Have Ever Met, Can Barely Put A Sentence Together. (not Talking Cuemakers)

Almost a Ph.D. means that the money was in Medicine not physics.

Regardless, perfection is perfection. I too have met many craftsmen who were not scholars, nor did they need to be to do their jobs well. I simply stated that because I understand the accuracy of sub-millimeter precision. Again, his work is meticulous and that's why he has such loyal clients and such a long wait.

Hell convince people that he is nothing out of the ordinary, it will just get me mine quicker....HA HA..
