Dennis vs Sky.

you never know which side has bet what amount. so how much his side lost who knows. very possible they made money by betting getting odds on sky while betting on dennis also and shooting a middle. even if there was no business done it was a good bet.

and dennis is getting older and plays so much he must be getting burned out some. but as seen anyone one of the very top players will beat another one on certain conditions or days.

sky would be a fool to take the bet, he's givin up 2 to 1
Sky said 10 years ago he’s the best player in the world on. Bar bo and he will take on all bets so of course he’s going to take it. I believe he beat svb in the Finals of that Reno bar box championships a few years ago, someone correct me if I’m wrong. I’ll have to look for it on you tube When I have more time

I think the dude you quoted was making a joke about Sky's hair.

I would agree that Sky has been America's best bar table player for years now, and yes, slightly better than Shane. I can't recall the event names, but I seem to recall that Sky has beaten Shane more than once in the final of a major bar table event.

I think it was the Carom Room maybe, a few years ago, Sky met Shane in the finals and they said on the stream that Sky's backer was giving him $100 per table run in the finals. I don't remember how many he ran but he was a machine that night. Maybe somebody can still find a link on YouTube or something. It was a clinic, and some incredible bar box 8 ball.

I’ve forgotten the year, as well, but it definitely was the Carom Room.

Even if he was the favorite , putting away Dennis is a feat in itself, I don't care for his moves, but thats part of the game for some people.

Is this the 1st time Dennis Crew lost a Big chunk of change.
Dennis lost twice to the same Taiwanese player in the mid 2000s. The were races to 60 for a lot of money. The matches were billed as the color of money 2 and 3, with Efren va Earl race to 100 being #1. I can’t remember the opponent’s name. Not one of the current crop of Taiwanese players.

Yang was a stone cold killer. Many will remember the final of the 2002 WPA World 9-ball Championship, a classic between Strickland and Bustamante, ultimately won by Earl. Not as many will recall that to get to the final, Bustamante had to beat Yang, and many considered Yang to have been the favorite in that match.
He was the favorite to win the whole thing by the English Bookies. It was the best match i ever witnessed-See-sawing back and forth with 5, 6 and maybe 7 packs iirc. They both got a weird kiss on the break several times with the ball going in in the lower right pocket after the strange identical kiss.

I would like to see the same game on a Valley with a wood rack.
Or add SVB to it and make it first one to 75 games.

Wasn't too long ago we all had Jesse as the best bar table player. Guy hits um real good.

Good memory to mention that. I recall Earl stating in an interview he rated Yang as the best player in the world then. Earl remarked something to the effect that Yang pocketed balls cleaner than anybody at the time.

Yang has reputation for cleaning them up in money games at World Championships. :D

I just watched the 2002 Bustamante d. Yang 11-7 match.

- all 18 breaks were successful (made a ball and did not foul), with the wing ball dropping every time;
- Bustamante won 9 games on his 10 breaks, Yang won 6 on his 8 breaks;
- break & run games numbered 12 -- 8 by Bustamante (a 5-pack to end the match and a 3-pack) and 4 by Yang (a 3-pack and a single);
- Yang won the first game, Bustamante the next 5, Yang the next 6, and Bustamante the final 6. So the lead changed hands thrice.
