Derby City 2012

Was thinking about going the last three days .What is the best way to get to the Casino from the airport and what hotel is cheap in between the two ??
Will be nice to see some of you. I too liked the old location at the hotel the best but hey if I get to see some good matches and hang out with some friends it will be a good trip.:thumbup:

Directions are discussed in this thread. Everyone needs to remember that the I64 bridge is currently CLOSED. All traffic is being rerouted via I65.

Odds are I wont be at DCC this year. Working too much... So I won't be able to play ya. I'll be at Valley Forge for sure though. If you come over to that I might try ya something.

Russ, I figured you saw my post earlier but you might have missed it. Do you want to play some at Derby? We don't have to play high, we can play some $100 sets or something.

Due to your "having a few champions on the ropes" (Mike Templeton's words, not mine) in that Great Smokey Mountain Shoutout you played a while back, I would have to say you play quite a bit better than I do, but I will gladly negotiate a game with you when we meet at DCC.

Hope to see you there, buddy!

For whatever its worth... the only ropes ktown can put a champion on is in a boxing ring. I would say ktown barely beats the 6ball ghost and would rarely if ever beat the 9ball ghost. Of course, I was drunk when we played so I may have no idea.

The pool side says GO, the side that hates cold says go south instead.

Probably won't decide till the last min once I see the weather and maybe how the action is if we have any streams this year.

I have gone 6 years to Louisville-loved it!!
I have gone 1 year to ???? IN -Horseshoe Casino-not so much. Ok I didn't like it!!
I'm done unless the thing returns to Lousiville.
I live on the west coast, so it's not a love of Louisville.
It's where "The Derby" belongs. In my opnion
Everyone that goes this coming 2012.
I hope you all have a great time.

i used to work for a guy whose favorite saying was;

"i could pay people to sit in a chair in the middle of a room & eventually someone would bittch about the direction the chair was facing"

amazing how that saying applies to every aspect of life.

Thanks...... I think.:embarrassed2::confused:

Although I hate to admit it, Cleary is right. I work 6 days a week and don't go out and play anywhere more than once a month, if that. I have been known to play OK at times and then I lose to someone that can't spell pool. I am not totally crippled but I am not a high level player by any means. I am rated a B in the rated amateur touraments in this area (GSBT).

If I had the desire and a schedule that would allow me to play occasionally I would possibly be more consistent and a better player but that is not the case. I do like to gamble a little but I also know where I stand in the food chain.

That was on barboxes, that isn't real pool...... :)

Notice how he said I "had them on the ropes" not "congrats on beating those champions". That was a nice way for him to say "good try".....

Cheers,

When im not their i can watch TAR to see who these guys are bustin. I hope Dippy and Scooter save a little money for someone else to win this year. Almost forgot Cliff Joyner he dont bet his own doe but what a great gambler. Got to love the Derby City Classic.
