Derby City - Banks

Very enjoyable banks final to watch. Corey really played well. I'm happy for him that he won.

Great match, both players were awesome. I think the difference is Corey was successful on his breaks and JB broke dry twice. We needed JB to win the first set just so we could see more bank pool! So much more interesting and exciting than the rotation based games, IMO. In any event, great match and great tourney by both John and Corey.

And lastly, a worthy plug for John's DVD's. I've bought them and am going through them again as if it is coursework and my banks game is on the improve and the game is more fun for sure when you're winning, lol.

Now, on to the onepocket...

Good win for Corey!

I like seeing Corey win events.

Yes, really nice to see Corey playing great. Such a creative player, really enjoyable to watch. As mentioned by the commentators, not many high tourney finishes by Corey there for a spell, but here he is playing super and winning again. Would be neat if he finished high or won the onepocket event...he can do it for sure.

We needed more Banks...we got the shortest amount possible. Coreys play was top notch. He got the yips trying to finish him off but damn he was striking the ball well

Yes we do and yes we did. I won't buy another pool stream until the 2019 DCC banks final I suppose. 9 and 10 ball are fun to play, but hell to watch...too damn boring! More banks and onepocket. Aw hell, 15 ball rotation too!

I was fortunate to be in the crowd for this final match.
Good finish by CD.

The breaker lost all 5 games.

The Banks ring game is fun to watch. Probably Friday night.

The bank ring games is the best.
Back when the DCC was over the river, a guy with a book was allowed and i won a little on Shannon Daultons win.

I wonder how many players they had in Banks this year and what the prize money was.

Definitely an awesome match that featured the contrasting styles that Shannon Daulton was talking about on the stream. Brumback really fires in the banks and goes for the 5 and out, while Deuel liked to roll the bank and play half saftey. Nothing wrong with either style, but really showed a difference. Over here in Maryland I've never seen too many bank games, but am a big fan now. Awesome stuff.

Several different numbers have been given for the number of players. By actually counting them (not a fun thing to do) in Round 1 on the Completed Matches list, I get 475.

I haven't seen the payouts yet.

Here's Corey Deuel's undefeated path to the Banks title:

1. Ted Reeves
2. Samantha Kikuchi
3. Mark Tademy
4. Devin Poteet
5. Patrick Griess
6. Caleb McIntire
7. Randy Hanson
8. bye
9. Louis DeMarco, Jr.
10. Jalal Yousif
11. John Brumback
12. Francisco Bustamante
13. Jayson Shaw 3-0
14. John Brumback 3-2

On Saturday the DCC facebook page said there was 471.It wouldn't surprise me though if it was actually a full field of 475.
