I have heard that there is an understanding with the casino about the action. Look at it this way. Greg is going to sell out their hotel for 9 days in a historically dead time of year for them. The economy is in the dumper and I am sure they like the idea of a hotel full of gamblers. I doubt they are going to queer the deal over guys matching up in the practice room.
You can't flip quarters, throw dice, or roll Keno at the Derby either in a big loud group of people. It always has gotten broken up eventually by either staff or the cops. There is an action pit in Vegas at the BCA that has seen some solid matches as well as the Sands in Reno. The casino's don't say a word about the action. Hell we streamed action LIVE from the Riv and the Sands and never heard a peep.
I was and still am against having events in casinos because they do have an effect on the action but at the same time I realize that an event at a casino beats the hell out of no event at all. Greg is a smart guy, he built the Derby. He knows what people love about it and why they come. He wouldn't make a deal that cuts out one of his passions and the reason many come in the first place.
The upside of doing it at Caesar's is that the food will be better by a factor of 100, the rooms will be much nicer and overall the event will take on a new look and have that new car smell

I will sorely miss the Booze Sellar, The Chapel and the Action Room but I am sure there will be new legends and memories made.
Let's give him a chance to tell us the final details before we start with the gloom and doom. I don't care if he holds the Derby at a rest stop on I-64 in a blizzard. I am going to be there.
