Last Day for Consideration

When is the deadline for submissions. Also what are you guys using to sketch these great ideas? CAD?

Any help would remain greatly appreciated, it really puts the difficulty in perspective when the design is on us, the amatuers (for the most part).

Deadline is midnight Nov. 5, 2010 Mountain time.

I will need a couple of weeks to print off all the entries and pick 5 for the final vote.

2 traditional style, 2 modern style and one wild card.

gets my vote......i like how the intertwined ivory and silver lines/arcs are not the same thickness throughout the whole design, even the ring work.....should make all the parts get progressively smaller as they go towards the forearm...very challenging....fire up the machinery bill.....have some fun.....

I wish i had seen this post before now, but good job to everyone that put their designs out there. I saw many designs that were very good and interesting. I am sure Bill will have a hard time narrowing it to just 5. I hope after you pic out the 5 designs that you will post the finalist for all to see even if we can not vote on them. My hat off to you sir.
 
First Cut

Once again I want to thank everyone that has participated in this thread. Many interesting designs have been presented. What I have learned so far is that cue design is very individual. Who and what you are and what experiences you have had all contribute to what you design. Perhaps that explains why different cuemakers have different "looks" to their cues.

Making a choice from all the designs has been a lot harder than I anticipated. Because there were so many good designs I have decided to make selections in stages. Once a design is eliminated I won't need to visit it again. Too confusing otherwise.

So here are the first cut of all the designs submitted. I will continue to eliminate designs through out the day.

Second Cut

There are no easy choices now. All the designs are interesting.
I have eliminated some themes that have been done before.
I have also eliminated others that are very personal and perhaps would not appeal to the voters at large. They were very interesting designs and obviously required a great deal of time and effort. Thanks for the effort.

My head hurts from studying designs all day. But it is fun anyway.
I'll need to take a break until tomorrow.

WOW....the design "Jon" posted is not in the running any more?.....it was one of my favorites....would have liked to see that one made.....i like "Kickin' Chicken"'s and "peter gunn"'s as well.....we'll see how long those last....
