Diamond 9' vs Gold Crown 9'

I'm curious as to how true the one-piece slate stays. Remembering old one-piece slate bar boxes, they almost never kept a level and always ended up warped or off. Now I understand the engineering is far better today but can someone expand on the process Diamond took or their thinking as to why the single piece is better.....other than it being faster to set-up, or is that the only reason.

I mean import Crap, like non Italian Slate that in many cases is warped, Asian Pot Metal for fastners, Crappy Rubber that gets hard as a rock in a few years, plastic parts that are brittle.
 
Diamond tables

Diamond, cheap import crap?

Diamond tables are made in the US. They use Italian slate that is machined on both side to make sure that they are flat. It also makes it nice when you set them up. They use Artiems German rubber so the cushions are some of the best in the industry. All in all the Diamond Pro is at the top as far as tables go.

As far as the Pro Am, it uses the same top rails but it has a one piece slate. I have not worked on one yet but they tell me that it has 20+ adjuster to keep the slate level.

Now as far as Brunswick goes they make alot of stuff overseas. And no matter what they say they use Brazilian slate on thier new tables . I have set up alot of Brurunswicks and work on them almost everyday.

I am suppriesed that Greg from Diamond has not said anything here.

I have a 9ft Diamond Pro and I resent the Hell out of that remark as well. I haven't seen many pooltables put together but I sure as hell saw this one put together and I don't think there's a better constructed table around, the main beams on this thing are like railroad ties.

Boy I tell you, their's a clown in every box.

I just think you said those things to start a fight and you realy don't know what your talking about.And I wonder if you can or anyone on this site can tell me where the Gold Crown is made.And maybe you can explain to us where it is that Diamond builds there tables in China.And asfar as the slate on both tables what is the difference between Italian slate and Slate that come's from Brazil.Other then the fact one is mined in Brazil the other Italy.I've herd that Brazil slate was cheaper and more brittle but after 17 years of setting up tables I still can't tell the difference between the two,other then color.Asfar as which table is the best you haft to decide for your self.Future note to all the new Gold crowns and metros will come to ways Home models with the big pockets and there turniment tables with pro cut pockets.Like the diamond.
